THE LIVING DEAD PRECEDENT STUDY Inspiration for the entry design is based on one of the famous mausoleums in the world, The Great Pyramids of Giza. Since the exhibition displays decaying human bodies, exhibits deserve a ‘mausoleum’ in honouring their death. Another inspiration is Melbourne’s famous art museum, ACCA. With a facade made of rust, which is considered a fragile and brittle material scientifically, it still holds the responsibility in guarding precious artwork.

From above; Pyramids of Giza by Heimunu (2560 BC), ACCA by architects Wood / Marsh (2002)

The SlutWalk protest marches began in 2011, in Toronto, Canada, and became a movement of rallies across the world. Givenchy had a show called Modern Arabian Nights (2009) featuring bejewelled burkas as a reaction to President Sarkosy’s ban of the Burka at Paris fashion week.
