THE DIVINE ORDER is set in Switzerland in 1971, where women were still denied the right to vote. When unassuming housewife Nora is forbidden by her husband to take a part-time job, she realizes that the private is political and starts to fight for the right to vote.

PETRA VOLPE * 1970 in Switzerland. Joint Swiss and Italian citizenship. Petra Volpe studied at HFF in Potsdam. Her film DREAMLAND (2013) won a Swiss Film Award and was selected for many festivals. Volpe also adapted the screenplay for the box office hit HEIDI (2015). THE DIVINE ORDER received the Swiss Films Award for Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress. It won the Nora Ephron Prize, the Award for Best Actress in an Int’l Narrative Feature Film and the Audience Award at Tribeca.

JAN-ERIC MACK * 1983 in Switzerland. Jan-Eric Mack studied film at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). His diploma film ALFONSO (2013) premiered at the Locarno Festival and won the Cinema e Gioventù Award. The ZHdK awarded him with an advancement award in film. FACING MECCA won the Best of the Festival Award in Palm Springs and the Award for Best Student Live Action Short Over 15 Min. as well as the Silver Medal at the Student Academy Awards 2017 in the Narrative Category (International Film Schools).

Pensioner Roli comes to Fareed’s assistance when the Syrian refugee is faced with the burial of his Muslim wife. Together they stumble into a bewildering forest of Swiss bureaucracy to which Roli finds a beautifully simple answer.

Wally’s childhood is increasingly turned upside down by her mother’s alcohol addiction. She experiences the excesses and consequences of addiction first hand. Desperately, the eight-year-old tries to keep up normality in her own life and the life of her family by any means. A roller coaster ride between helplessness, excessive demands and desperation begins. It’s a daily struggle for survival.

In Buenos Aires, the Molina family lives and works in the shadows of the legendary Boca Juniors stadium. In 2015 he graduated from the Docnomads Master Course in documentary filmmaking. EN LA BOCA was shown worldwide, won several awards and is nominated for a European Film Award.

FRANCESCA SCALISI *1982 in Bergamo, is an Italian director and editor. In 2012 they founded the film production company DOK MOBILE. Their short film MORIOM and their feature length HALF-LIFE IN FUKUSHIMA were shown world­wide, and won several awards as the Gold Plaque of the Best Short Film Documentary in Chicago, Best Short Documentary in Brooklyn a.o.
