Bossier Chamber honors local businesses John Hubbard and Landers Dodge Chrysler Jeep were the big winners Tuesday night at the Horseshoe Casino Hotel in Bossier City, where the Bossier Chamber of Commerce held its annual membership banquet. Several awards were presented throughout the evening, including Business Person of the Year and Business of the Year, which went to Hubbard and Landers, respectively. Denny Rogers, managing partner of Landers, accepted their award.

ALEC ALEXANDER has joined Christus Health Louisiana as compliance officer. Alexander is based at Christus St. Frances Cabrini but travels among the health care system’s locations. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Dallas and earned a law degree from South Texas College of Law. From 1985 to 1987, he was a writer and analyst for The White House Office of Presidential Correspondence. He was an assistant U.S. attorney with the Western District of Louisiana from 2002 to 2010, prosecuting hospitals and doctors for health care fraud and false claims. CPA MICHAEL FINELY has joined Christus Health Louisiana as director of budgeting. He is housed at Christus Schumpert in Shreveport but has employees at Christus St. Patrick and Christus St. Frances Cabrini. He will work to standardize reporting across the state, improve and standardize budgeting and look at productivity improvements. He previously worked for SSM Health Care, a Catholic Health System baed in St. Louis for about 12 years.
DR. DONNA WALKER, a hematologist/oncologist at Highland Clinic, was named one of America’s Top Oncologist by the Consumer Research Council of America. It is the second year for her to earn the honor. The Ruston native graduated from Louisiana Tech and LSU Medical School in New Orleans. She has been practicing medicine in Shreveport for 10 years.
