The Development Partners are keeping a watching brief on when it will be appropriate to restart construction work on Blackwall Reach. Further updates on this will be issued on www.blackwallreachcommunity.co.uk

Swan Housing Association

Before the work was paused the new station square, next to Blackwall DLR station was completed. This marks another important milestone in the scheme. This phase includes 242 new homes which are located in three buildings built around the new public square. The buildings will include new shops and cafes on the ground floor around the square.

Senior Neighbourhood Officer (Swan)

On Phase 2, the sub-contractors who were constructing the concrete frames of the new homes completed their work. The next major phase, once work on site resumes, will see the brick facades start to be built. Swan is currently working on plans for

Phase 3 in partnership with the architects. This phase will focus on the redevelopment of Macrow Walk and the remaining Robin Hood Gardens building. A planning application for Phase 3 is expected to be submitted by Swan towards the end of the year. This phase will include approximately 315 new residential homes (50% affordable) across two main blocks with landscaped public space. The consultation where you can share your feedback on the proposals is available online at blackwallreachcommunity.com until 31 May.Â

LBTH residents with a secure tenancy currently living in Robin Hood Gardens and Swan residents with an assured tenancy living in Blackwall Reach Phase 1a (with double decant status), are in the process of being contacted regarding the allocation of the new homes in Phase 2. The new homes will be allocated according to current housing need and the reassessment process is currently underway.
