GENERATIONS OF CRAFTSMANSHIP Holger Svedberg, who founded our company in 1920, would feel pleasantly at home at Svedbergs today. Of course, the way we manufacture our bathroom furniture has inevitably changed. But the soul, quality and care for details are the same as ever.
CRAFTED BY HAND Much of the work is done by hand at our factory in Dalstorp, just as it was almost a century ago. And always with the same care and precision. Many of the visitors at our factory are surprised that we still manufacture and assemble all our bathroom furniture there. We do this for a reason: to ensure they have a long, problem-free lifespan.
THE CARE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE As an example of our care and precision, we give all our wooden furniture three base coats and one top coat. We dry each coat with UV light before applying the next coat. To seal our panels against moisture, we use paints and coatings that absorb into the material. We take the same care over our sheet metal cabinets. They are powder coated to protect them against rust, impact and scratching.

ONLY GENUINE VENEERS All our unpainted front panels have real wood veneers. The frames are made of moisture-resistant chipboard. We know they’re tough because we’ve tested them for three days in 20 °C water, one day in 12 °C cold and three days in 70 °C heat. And all our bathroom cabinets have fully extendible drawers with real ball bearing runners. Read more in our material guide on page 216.
THE PERFECT METAL SHEET We manufacture and assemble all our sheet metal parts in-house. We use galvanised sheet metal for our cabinets and drawers, cold-rolled sheet metal for our lighting and aluminium for our showers. But the secret to a perfect sheet metal detail lies in the pretreatment and varnishing processes. Everything is done in a closed process at our own varnishing facility, using environmentally friendly methods and without solvents. Read more in our material guide on page 216.
FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT Because we make our products in our own factory in Sweden, we have control of our environmental impact. We use mandatory marks such as REACH, RoHS and WEEE. Moreover, we are a member of organisations including BASTA, REPA, ElKretsen and Safe Water Installation.

THE BEST DRAWERS WE’VE EVER MADE When we developed our drawer concept, we set out to achieve a stable and functional design. And we wanted users to have the option of adding extras to enhance the experience still further. The result can be seen in Forma, Stil and DK.
BOX ONE Box One is included in Forma and Stil at no extra charge. The drawer has a moulded plastic insert that is extremely durable and easy to maintain.
BOX ONE+ To enhance the experience, for an extra charge you can add Box One+, which is available for Forma and Stil. Then you’ll get black oak inserts and two smaller removable wooden boxes which you can put wherever you want inside the drawers. An attractive and practical solution.
BOX TWO If you choose DK, Box Two is included at no extra charge. It includes an attractive oak insert and two smaller removable wooden boxes. You can put the boxes wherever you want inside the drawers. The whole design breathes style and function.
BOX TWO+ To enhance the look still further, you can upgrade to BoxTwo+ for an extra charge. Then you’ll get two wooden lids for the small removable wooden boxes and wooden side panels for the drawers. The wooden side panels create the impression that the whole drawer is made of wood. The drawer inserts are the same as for Box Two.

SMART DRAWER SYSTEM When you choose Stil, our Box One drawer system is included as standard. An anti-slip material in the bottom of the drawers keep the contents from sliding around. As an option, you can upgrade to Box One+ which has black oak inserts and two removable wooden boxes.

HEIGHT When choosing your heated towel rail, make sure you select the right size and height. You might like to align the position of your towel rail with something in your bathroom interior, such as the shower wall or the bathroom cabinet.

TIPS FOR CHOOSING A HEATED TOWEL RAIL There are essentially two types of heated towel rail to choose from: electrically heated or centrally heated (water-heated). You also have the option of combining the two types. Your choice should be based on the type of heating system you currently have in your home. Whatever you decide on, we have many attractive heated towel rails to choose between. Some have energy-saving functions built in, while others allow you to add them.
ELECTRIC TOWEL RAIL

This is a practical, convenient solution suitable for most bathrooms. It’s easy to connect. Simply plug the lead into the nearest socket to switch the rail on. Our electric towel rails have built-in timer and boost functions for extra energy savings. You can set the timer to start and stop at the times that suit you. You can press the boost manually for faster heating and choose how long you want it switched on.
Take extra care when deciding the position and height of your heated towel rail. This is particularly important today, since modern towel rails come in a wide variety of heights and designs.
WATER-HEATED TOWEL RAIL The great thing about a water-heated towel rail is that it utilises the heat already circulating in your home. You simply connect it to your existing closed water system. During the warmer months of the year, when the water in the heating system does not heat up as much, you might need some help from an electric valve. A water-heated towel rail can also be heated with only electricity. This requires an electric valve. There are two electric valves to choose between. One can be adjusted between 30–60 °C and has a built-in switch. The other option is an Erica electric valve, which can be adjusted between 30–60 °C and has a built-in switch, timer, boost and antifreeze functions. You will also need to buy an extra valve. FRAMES
C O AT I N G S
REAL WOOD VENEERS
All our frames are made of moisture resistant material. To seal our wooden panels against moisture, we use paints and coatings that absorb into the material. As a result, our frames can withstand demanding environments with high humidity.
Our wooden products are coated in four layers, using coating that withstands high-humidity environments. This multiple coating technique creates a protective barrier that prevents moisture from penetrating the wood.
All our frames and front panels have real wood veneers. The veneer on the front panels is given two clear matt coatings to create an attractive, moisture-resistant finish. Oak veneer has natural variations in colour and texture.
CAST MARBLE
S O L I D S U R FA C E
ACRYLIC
An artificial marble that is highly shapeable and very hardwearing. It is also a highly insulating material that keeps the water warm for a long time, ideal if you love taking long baths.
A supremely shapeable and low-maintenance material. It is exceptionally hard-wearing and hygienic. Solid surface can mimic the appearance of wood, stone and other natural materials.
One of the oldest synthetic fibres on the market. Acrylic is moisture resistant, hardwearing and easy to clean. It is also highly shapeable, offering plenty of scope for exciting designs.

This is partly to optimise the design, but also to ensure the products have a long, happy life in bathroom environments, where temperatures and humidity levels are especially prone to fluctuation. This places extra high demands on the products. On this page spread you will find brief descriptions of most of the materials we use.
PORCELAIN
S H E E T M E TA L
The word porcelain derives from the Italian porcella, meaning a white cowrie shell. We add a glaze to the surface to protect the porcelain from scratches and dirt. This also makes the porcelain resistant to most chemicals.
We use galvanised sheet metal, which we powder coat to make it resistant to rust, impact and scratching. All treatment takes place in a closed process at our own coating facility, using environmentally friendly Bonderite NT and solvent-free coatings.
ENAMEL
SILESTONE
DEKTON
Enamel is made of powdered glass, which is heated until it melts and then allowed to harden. It is a robust material that has been used to make baths for many decades. Underneath the enamel coating, our enamel baths are made of pressed steel.
Silestone is made almost entirely of natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals in the world. It is resistant to scratches and wear. Because of its low porosity, it is easy to wipe away any stains from wine, coffee and makeup.
Dekton is more resistant to bending than granite, and also withstands high temperatures. This material is resistant to scratching, UV degradation and fading, and its non-porous surface is easy to clean. M AT E R I A L G U I D E
