WISBOROUGH GREEN BEE KEEPERS We are a progressive and friendly group who encourage all those who have an interest in honeybees and hive products, whether they are beekeepers or not. We have a class of membership for those who don’t own bees, but would like to come to meetings and receive our monthly newsletter. Beekeeping has a reputation of being for “older” people, but we are proud of the fact that the vast majority of our newer members are younger people with young families, showing that beekeeping can be a family hobby. We regularly have juniors who attend meetings and handle bees. There are no geographical boundaries and although we are called “Wisborough Green”, many of our members live some distance from Wisborough Green, and some even live in other counties, which is an indication that we provide the services they want. CENTRAL SUSSEX BEEKEEPERS ASSOCIATION Are you thinking of keeping bees? Wherever you live in the country, harvesting honey from your own bees is a very rewarding experience why not learn to become a beekeeper with us? Maybe you are a beekeeper already and want to join a local Association? If so, you’re in the right place. We cover Ansty, Ardingly, Balcombe, Barns Green, Bolney, Broadbridge Heath, Burgess Hill, Colgate, Cowfold, Crawley, Cuckfield, Faygate, Handcross, Haywards Heath, Henfield, Horsham, Lindfield, Lower Beeding, Maplehurst, Partridge Green, Rudgwick, Shipley, Slinfold, Southwater, Warnham, Warninglid, West Grinstead, Worth... and any bits in between. If you live in any of these places, why not come and join us at one of our regular meetings? The Central Sussex Beekeeping Association would welcome you as a member. We are affiliated to the British Beekeeping Association (BBKA). We have our own Apiary and hold regular meetings throughout the year. During the winter, we meet once a month, where a series of informal lectures and talks are organised. In the warmer months we meet more often at our training apiary where you can have a taste of beekeeping in a friendly and, more importantly, safe environment. We also run training courses.
