CHRISTMAS EVENTS... The City Charity Christmas Concert at All Saints Church

Christmas Market Thurs 5 December, 4-7pm, Hove Park School Valley Campus, Hangleton Way This year Hove Park School’s Christmas Market will be raising money to support local charities that provide much needed care and support for both student and adult mental health and wellbeing. Admission: 50p adults, children free. Martlets City Charity Christmas Concert Thurs 5 December, 7pm, All Saints Church, The Drive A traditional carol concert with soloist Katy Thornton, Hangleton Band, Brighton Festival Youth Chorus and the All Saints Church Choir. Narrated by actress and writer Carole Harrison and Allison Ferns of BBC Sussex. Tickets £12 (restricted view £6) from www.themartlets.org.uk or phone 01273 747455. Each Peach Winter Fest Sat 7 December, 10am-12pm, Each Peach Nursery, 42 Wilbury Villas Enjoy some yummy mince pies and refreshments. There will also be a Christmas market, prizes to be won, a scavenger hunt, sing-along, children’s Christmas craft activities and of course a chance to meet Father Christmas! Jam Tarts: Christmas Tarty Party Sat 7 December, 7.30pm, The Old Market theatre, Upper Market Street The 60-piece choral collective present an alternative Christmas party, also featuring 5-piece Shine On to get you dancing the night away. Jam Tarts kick off with a small serving of harmonised wintery wonders. Expect to hear Fleet Foxes, Nick Cave, and Belle and Sebastian in shimmering arrangements, alongside reworked Christmas classics by The Pogues, The Pretenders and Jona Lewie. Carols At The Mill Wed 11 December, 6.30-8.30pm, West Blatchington Windmill, Holmes Avenue All your favourite Christmas carols, with keyboard accompaniment. There will be refreshments, a visit from Santa and a raffle. Come early as space is limited.

A Very Cherry Christmas Thurs 12 December, 7pm, Purple Playhouse Theatre, 36 Montefiore Road Award-winning burlesque from the Cherry Poppers, with glamorous show girls, comedy and much more, hosted by Brighton’s resident drag queen Madame Belle D’Amour; age 18+, tickets £22.25 from purpleplayhousetheatre.com/theatre. Santa Flights At The i360 30 November to 24 December, i360, Lower King’s Road You can point out your chimney to Father Christmas on board the i360. As the glass viewing pod glides up slowly to 450ft, search for Rudolph and his reindeer friends flying past, before posing for a photo with Father Christmas, whose elves will hand you an exciting gift. Christmas at The Royal Pavilion Until 2 January 2020 Experience a magical Christmas at the Royal Pavilion. The palace is transformed with festive decorations and glittering trees, and Georgian desserts fit for a king are on show in the Deckers’ Room.
