WELCOME

Sussex Grange is privately owned and provides both Personal Home Care in the Chichester & Selsey areas and a delightful Residential Care Home for 20 elderly people in the peaceful coastal town of Selsey, West Sussex. Day Guests are also welcomed at our Care Home.

Our underlying philosophy at Sussex Grange is to provide a caring service that offers the reassurance, choices and opportunities that we would want for ourselves as we grow older.

We take great pride in the care we provide and will work closely with you, and your family, to create individual care plans that meet all your needs whether medical, physical, emotional or social.

OUR VALUES

Our overriding value at Sussex Grange is Care With Kindness and this is underpinned by our four core values:

• Kindness

• Respect for all

• Treat everyone as individuals

• Everybody matters

Upholding these values helps us to maintain our reputation for providing outstanding care and support to our clients and their families.

OUR TEAM

Our outstanding reputation is attributed to our dedicated team, whose exceptional qualities of kindness, care, and excellence set them apart.

Being a smaller provider, we take a more personal approach to recruitment which helps to ensure that the whole team works well together and shares the same values.

Checks

Before new members join the team, they undergo thorough safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced police check (DBS). Following on from this, all staff undergo regular supervision, appraisals and DBS reviews.

Training

We ensure that all our staff members are fully trained for their role, as well as being supported in their professional growth and development.

HOME CARE SERVICE

Our Personal Home Care service offers support to clients living in their own homes in and around Chichester and Selsey.

We understand the unique needs of each individual, so we will take the time to listen carefully to your requirements to offer you a bespoke service and personalised plan that meets your specific needs. This might be anything from a single weekly shopping visit to a full care and support package.

Throughout our time supporting you, we will continue to listen to you, your family, and any other key individuals, to make sure that we can tailor and adapt our support to meet your changing needs. We always find that working together leads to the best outcomes.

PEACE OF MIND

Arrangements can be made to provide various therapeutic services within the home or elsewhere, by arrangement. Services include chiropody, dentistry, hairdressing, physiotherapy and optical care.

The Care Team at Sussex Grange is available day and night, and we will work with you to establish the level of support or independence you require.

With a focus on person-centred care, our team will regularly review your care plan to ensure we can continue to meet your changing needs. We also operate a secure family portal where loved ones can regularly check in to get peace of mind that you’re in safe hands.

Safety features within the bedrooms include electronic call bells with an optional wearable pendant to alert the Care Team when support is needed. We find this offers a high level of reassurance to the residents.

ACTIVITIES

At our care home, we understand the importance of engaging and enriching activities for our residents. We offer a wide range of activities tailored to meet individual interests and needs.

Friends and families are invited to social events including seasonal parties, charity fundraisers and engagement meetings with the Manager and Directors.

Our small ‘Market Stall’ is set up regularly to enable those who choose not to venture out an opportunity to purchase personal care items, gifts, and snacks. In addition to this, we provide facilities to support residents with their own shopping.

Throughout the year, we host other fun activities, such as trips out, coffee mornings, exercise classes, visits from local entertainers, inhouse activities and garden parties.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

At Sussex Grange, we take great pride in our home-cooked meals, which are prepared using fresh, high-quality ingredients, including a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. We believe in supporting local businesses, which is why we source our fresh meat from the village butcher. This not only ensures the quality and taste of our meals, but also promotes a sense of community and sustainability.

Our menu is thoughtfully planned, with the residents, to cater to various dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring that each resident receives nourishing and delicious meals. From hearty meals to lighter options, we strive to offer a balanced and satisfying dining experience that contributes to the overall well-being and enjoyment of our residents.

Special diets are catered for on an individual basis. There is always a variety of choice available for hot and cold foods and snacks can be prepared 24/7

THE GARDENS

The large garden is a particularly eye-catching feature of Sussex Grange, with a wide variety of trees and shrubs. A level footpath leads around the perimeter of the garden weaving between vibrant flowerbeds and lawns.

RESPITE CARE

Our ensuite Respite Care room offers you the opportunity to join us for a short break in the Care Home. You will be offered the same level of support as our permanent residents, and being close to the sea gives Sussex Grange a real holiday-feel.

Our Personal Home Care office is based at the Care Home, so Respite Care stays are very popular among many of our Personal Home Care clients who enjoy seeing the friendly and familiar faces of the Home Care team.

DAY CARE

Our Day Care option in the Care Home provides flexibility for people who want to make the most of our facilities and activities whilst visiting for the day. This is a popular choice for anyone living alone who wants to meet new people, establish friendships, and enjoy a nourishing meal.

Our Day Care visitors have full access to communal areas of the home, and by arrangement can also make use of our hydrotherapy air-spa system or walk-in wet room. It is, of course, possible for our Personal Home Care team to help with transport to and from the Care Home if required. Day Care offers a perfect balance of social interaction while allowing individuals to return home to their familiar surroundings at the end of the day.
