“FAITH LIKE A SHIELD” Conference – Aug. 26-27, 2011 – North Olmsted, OH Faith isn’t something that some of us were just “given more of”. In fact, it is something that God has carefully measured out for each of us to have. Romans 12:3: “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.” Although we all have been given the measure of faith, many of us still do not fully understand faith and are not walking in the fullness of what that means. While we all have it, the Bible clearly tells us that many of us are walking at different levels of faith. There is Growing Faith (2 Thessalonians 1 -3), there is Weak and Strong Faith (Romans 4:1920), there is Full of Faith (Acts 6:9), and there is Little Faith (Matthew 14:28-31) and Great Faith (Matthew 8:5-10) Developing our Faith is much like body building. It has to be worked out in us. It comes by hearing,

understanding and believing in the promises of God’s Word. (Romans 10:8-17) Through each and every test and trial our faith is put to the test and lessons in God’s promises are learned as we have saturated our lives with prayer and the Word. “God said it, and therefore I believe it and so I will stand on it, no matter what my circumstances look like!” As faith grows, love abounds! (2Thessalonians 1-3) And in Galatians 5:6 we learn that our faith will work (or be effective) in direct proportion to our love. It is that great love and compassion in us that helps us to push forward in faith for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are searching. James 1:23 and 2:17-22 also tells us that Faith without corresponding action is dead and if according to Romans 10:10 Faith is released by words and so therefore we need to declare His promises over any circumstance OUT LOUD! At the conference “Faith Like a Shield” on August 26th and 27th, the seasoned ministers that are

coming are all excited to see faith activated to a greater degree in our lives. In fact, each one has been selected because they have walked out times where it took great faith to push forward and they have obtained victory in Jesus over those circumstances! In these days that we are living in, where many have been buffeted with the fire of the enemy, we need that FAITH activated more today than ever before. We will be a strong army walking in the promise of God and a strong army is what it will take. If our faith is weak, how can even begin to grab the hand of another and show them that there is so much more?

It’s TIME! Let your faith be like a shield and you will be able to stop all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Eph 6:16

Testimonies continue to pour in about what the Lord is doing. Here are a few we’ve received since our last month’s newsletter:

Susan & Mark, We love you all and wanted to thank you again for coming and leading worship and ministering (in July). Please thank Jim & Melissa as well. You guys all flow together so well in worship! So excited about what God is up too, as this was the second service in past 3 weeks, where we went back into Praise & Worship after the message and ministry time, and the people did not leave till after almost 2PM. Just enjoying the Presence of the Lord. Our God is so Awesome and it is beautiful when you all can come and lead worship to bless everyone and at the same time be blessed and ministered too in the process. Thank God this happens in an environment where there is freedom and liberty in the Spirit. God is up to something great and it is exciting just to be a part. Couple things, I hope my stepping up at the end and sharing how the Holy Spirit gave me the same message as a confirmation and doing a kind of review of key points did not offend you in anyway. The message was great, I was just sitting there and even though I did not have my notes, I was going through them in my mind (I had just glanced through them earlier Sunday AM) as you were speaking, this is one of the first times I can remember going back many years that someone had the exact same message! WOW that was confirmation of God's timing and listening to the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for breathing New Life into peoples dreams with the Field of Dreams! In Christ, Pastor Doug Frano

Sue, You and Mark have already been used by the Lord to bless me and my family. Thank you both for being obedient to His calling. Also your mother blessed and encouraged me when I was feeling too old to be used. I was feeling my age and during the conference in March her testimony showed me He can still use me. Thank you and I pray for you and your family Janice

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING: “Good word!” “Great service!!” “I knew the Lord wanted to do something today.” “WOW!!”

FAITH LIKE A SHIELD CONFERENCE Did you know without faith it is impossible to please God? (Hebrews 11:6) How appropriate it is then, that our upcoming conference is titled, “Faith Like a Shield”. Let’s face it, we live in unprecedented times! Never before have God’s people faced the types of challenges we face today. This conference is specifically planned to bring each attendee timely words and teachings that will help to equip each of us for a true work of faith. A faith so intense, that as we grasp hold of it, we will literally and fearlessly march forth as the empowered army of God and we will actively advance His kingdom! We’re very excited about the various speakers we’ve lined up, as well as looking forward to powerful times of worship as a gifted worship team leads us into the inner-courts.

It’s always a fun event when the Lord gifts a family with a new baby, but how much more fun is it when He makes us the grandparents!?! Yes… we’re going to be first-time grandparents soon. Our son and his wife are expecting a baby girl within a matter of weeks. Needless to say, we’re all very excited! Since babies need so many things, we spent several weeks planning a baby-shower for our daughter-in-law (thanks very much to everyone who helped). It took place this past Saturday and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun was shining brightly – as was the Mommy-toBe. Our son and his wife received so much love and attention, along with many of the supplies they’ll be needing as they enter their journey into parenthood. Like all babies, God knew our grand-daughter before He formed her in the womb. All her days are written in His book and already ordained. He has numbered every wispy, precious hair on her tiny head. We praise Him because our grandchild is fearfully and wonderfully made and God’s works are marvelous! We’ll keep you posted on when our grand-daughter decides to make her entrance into the world.

On that same day, we gathered to celebrate my Dad’s birthday. Both of my parents hold such a special place in my heart and I’m so thankful to live near them and to have them in my life. We enjoyed a great family time, some of his favorite carrot cake, and the sweet sounds of laughter and joy as we celebrated my Dad. I’m so glad my Daddy and I share the same Lord and Savior. My Dad is and always will be the special man in my life. I love you so much Daddy!

Who are we to judge what a miracle looks like? With the babyshower nearly here, we had promised to provide the decorations. Imagine decorating a hall for a special moment, on a shoestring budget! Knowing the look we needed, but not having the funds, we knew it would take a miracle to get the decorations. Well a miracle did come. It came through a loving friend who offered to loan us some of the very things we needed! Praise God! Now imagine having to bake the special cake as well as over 100 cookies! Yes that’s quite a chore. But how can one do it without a working oven? Yeah… Just when we needed it – our oven completely stopped working. Now we’re able to cook on the stove and use the microwave and toaster oven – but not for a cake and cookies. Yet, again God came through! He sent offers from relatives for us to spend the day with them and use their oven (and their help)! Of course God could have just as easily provided the finances to decorate the baby-shower AND to repair or replace the oven. But knowing that emotional support and assistance were much more needed, God chose to provide these miracles through the gift of loving friends and family. His ways are so much higher than ours. Isn’t God awesome? Have you witnessed any of His miracles lately? It’s high time we all began to look for them. He is STILL in the miracle business today!
