iN brief Refrigeration Gases Refrigeration Gases are expensive to replace so it is important to detect a gas leak early. The CS-21 is one of our most popular solutions for refrigeration gas detection. The CS-21 is a low cost, highly sensitive sensor and can be used for all refrigeration applications. The lifespan of the sensor is 5+ years which all adds to the reduced cost savings over a longer period of time.
CO2 – Carbon Dioxide CO2 is not considered harmful at levels found in most buildings however they can help improve a building’s energy efficiency by continuously monitoring the level of CO2 in the air and adjust the ventilation supply accordingly. The benefits of which can attribute to lower power consumption and better controlled ventilation systems.
Battery and Generator Room Sensor The Combustible Gas Sensor is a solution for Battery and Generator Rooms. It is used for diffusion sensing, is a highly reliable catalytic style sensor which is designed to give extended service even under extreme conditions. Arguably the most robust catalytic Combustible sensor on the market, this sensor will typically last 3-7 years.
Boiler Room / Plant Room Many Industrial and Commercial buildings use Natural Gas to power on site boilers. These leaks may present a risk to all personnel that enter the room. A gas detection system will indicate a leak prior to it reaching dangerous concentrations as well as indicate when maintenance is required on the boilers.
Loading Dock Gas Detection Most loading vehicles consume diesel fuel creating toxic exhaust fumes. Industrial and Commercial buildings have trucks that load and unload all day causing fans to operate continuously instead of just the hours that the vehicles are operating. Installation of a C-2300 sensor near the loading dock to activate the exhaust fan will greatly reduce electricity costs. Car Park – Carbon Monoxide With ever rising power costs in mind, Control Equipment has just launched new economy sensors that are used to provide direct measurements of CO in the air. CO is a toxic gas which can be a health risk to the general public when encountered in enclosed car parks. Where there is no CO System in place the ventilation system must run 24/7. By installing a CO system the ventilation system will only operate when the CO levels are above the set levels, thus reducing running costs.
WHY MONITOR CARBON DIOXIDE? While Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant, it does have an effect on us. When CO2 levels rise, occupants feel sleepy and sluggish, have difficulty focusing, may become less productive, and may even get a headache. Pity the presenter in a room with high CO2 levels, because no matter how interesting the material, heads will start to hit desks. But CO2 sensing can do more than just monitor room conditions. Design professionals can also use CO2 sensing in demand control ventilation, in which the volume of ventilation supplied is based on the actual number of occupants and their activity. Ventilating a building requires heating and cooling outside air. There is always tension in this process. From an energy efficiency perspective, bringing in as little as possible outside air is optimal; from a ventilation perspective, maximising outside air intake is desirable. Demand control ventilation using CO2 sensors allows you to adjust the ventilation rate to suit immediate and changing needs
