Moving to Torquay from Horsham last January, Angela said they soon wanted “something to fill in the day� and with Leon selling tractors as a manager for John Deere for 35 years, a business in that industry seemed like the right choice. Registering the business in October last year, the abundance of rain helped it get off to a good start and the couple’s excellent work ethic has helped it grow since then. Angela said “there’s plenty of grass, to our advantage and we already have repeat customers�. She said they are enjoying running the business, although
it can sometimes be a challenge – especially trying to locate properties on unfamiliar roads. “But people are helpful and it’s been a great way to meet new people� she said. Torquay Slashing and Mowing is based in Torquay and mainly services the Surf Coast, and towards Bellbrae and Lorne. They deal with anything from small acreages and vacant blocks, up to around 50 acres. Leon is also accredited with the Surf Coast Shire and can help with fire prevention. “We are prompt, reliable and you can always expect a job to be well done,� said Angela.
