Unfolding Spaces 2017/18 The Mill Hill Development Office | Support our schools
Supporting: > A New Sixth Form Centre at Mill Hill > A New Building at Belmont (Design & Technology and IT) > A New Boarding House at Mill Hill
At Mill Hill we’re looking forward to the future. We’re evolving. We’re changing the way our pupils study (and relax) to prepare them better for life in the 21st century. Our new ethos embraces innovation, technology and modern working environments whilst maintaining Mill Hill’s heritage as a historic school with a commitment to both its day and boarding pupils.
To help us achieve our aims we are modernising our estate to provide the following superb new resources:
A New Sixth Form Centre at Mill Hill A New Building at Belmont (including dedicated Design & Technology and IT suites)
A New Boarding House at Mill Hill Innovation Hub (next phase – 2018)
The financial support of parents and alumni has always been essential in helping us achieve our goals – over 500 parents and alumni helped support the Michael Proctor Building at Belmont and the new IT suite at Grimsdell was provided by a generous donation from a parent. We hope that as many parents and alumni as possible will get behind the ‘Unfolding Spaces 2017’ campaign too. Gifts of any amount make a difference so do try to get involved. We are also offering the chance to have your name (or the name of your child, family or even company) displayed alongside your preferred project. Please read this booklet and see if there is a level at which you might be able to support these excellent resources for our pupils.
NEW SIXTH FORM CENTRE
To better prepare our sixth formers for university we are building a dedicated and interactive space that more closely reflects the higher-education learning environment. Study zones interspersed with social breakout zones for relaxation. Areas for quiet research with enhanced IT provision and areas for round-table debate. Our sixth formers deserve a space where they can be treated as young adults and where they can familiarise themselves with modern professional workplaces. If you would like to help us achieve this, please consider supporting at one of the levels indicated. Your name will be displayed prominently inside this excellent new centre for generations of appreciative sixth formers to come.
Opportunities to name the Social Zones (£25,000) and Study Zones (£50,000) and the Sixth Form Centre itself are also available.* Please contact Nick Priestnall if you would like to discuss this further firstname.lastname@example.org
NEW BUILDING AT BELMONT (DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY AND IT)
£10,000 Entrepreneurs name a classroom
Young minds are full of creativity and innovation. We want to provide spaces that nurture and develop these skills. Our pupils at Belmont have watched eagerly as the new building takes shape. Inside they will be excited to discover a dedicated Design & Technology suite and a state-of-the-art IT zone. These facilities will give them confidence in working with new technology and prepare them for the planned Innovation Hub at Mill Hill (2018 initiative). We think our pupils will love these new resources and we hope you think so too. If you would like to support this project then get behind Belmont by having your name prominently displayed in the new building as a ‘Coder’, ‘Designer’, ‘Innovator’ or even ‘Entrepreneur’!
Opportunities to name the IT zone (£25,000), the Design & Technology suite (£50,000) and the building itself are also available.* Please contact Nick Priestnall if you would like to discuss this further email@example.com
NEW BOARDING HOUSE AT MILL HILL
£1,000 Name a 1 Bedroom Dormitory
Patron: Name a 2 Bedroom Dormitory
The history of boarding at Mill Hill is as old as the School itself. In 1807 a small number of boys arrived at their dormitories and ever since Millhillians have proudly associated themselves with Burton Bank or Collinson, Ridgeway or Winterstoke, Weymouth or Scrutton, Priestley or St Bees or indeed School House. Our Millhillian boarders cherish their special affiliation with the School and the life-long bonds they establish through living and working together at Mill Hill. Boarding is an important tradition we intend to foster with renewed vigour.
For the first time in recent years we are creating a brand new boarding house. It will occupy what the older generation of Old Millhillians will remember as ‘the San’ and most recently has been used to house the Cedars and Priestley day houses. If you would like to support boarding at Mill Hill then please consider making a gift at one of the levels indicated. Your name will be displayed prominently within the house. Be part of Mill Hill’s history.
