A Letter from the Editor

December 2020

Ed’s Letter Animals, Christmas & 2021

It’s almost Christmas and 2021 is literally weeks away. Regardless of what religion or beliefs a person has, it’s a special time of year for the many who love to spend time with family. Personally, I think Christmas is loaded with too much pressure and expectation and way over the top commercially. I would, however, like to acknowledge the many people that have passed over to the spirit world, who won’t be celebrating the season in the flesh. It’s tough on the loved ones left behind who love and miss them. After such a rugged year for millions of people globally, many will welcome in 2021 like no other year in recent memory. It’s also a sad time for a lot of people who struggle with the Christmas period for a variety of reasons, especially loneliness, which is a major influence on depression and, in many cases, suicide. There is a raft

of other factors as well and I would encourage every reader to embrace the spirit of communication. If you feel drawn, make the call and check in on your loved ones. Lifeline 13 11 14 Kids helpline 1800 551 800 Without wanting to put a negative spin on the end of a tumultuous year, being aware of your family, friends and the people around you, might save lives and a simple gesture could help someone find a way through a dark place! This issue is a fascinating one regarding animals, the many aspects of their personalities and how they manage to worm their way into our lives, changing and challenging us to be good fur-parents. Celeste de Vis continues her column interviewing families in the LGBTQI+ community about their beloved pets and our resident medium Samantha Duly, explores the question: Do our pets go to Heaven? the gorgeous Keanu. This story offers several breakout sections: the perspective of a professional trainer and breeder, ponderings of a Greyhound foster carer, and the current experience of a new greyhound adoptive parent! Supernal Artist Lia Estate, relives the most beautiful story of her babe Gidget and how, together, they fought and beat cancer. Yours truly and partner Jane take readers on our Rottweiler Jet’s Journey, from a ruptured cruciate ligament to a diagnosis of bone cancer and subsequently dealing with amputation and rehab. As a part of that story, there is an interesting interview with Dr. Malcolm Were, a pioneer in Eastern and Western holistic therapy in veterinary practices. We also chat with the amazing Helen Da Vita from Ireland. Helen has been living and breathing animal communication for many years and has also played an integral role in Jet’s journey. This story is compelling on many levels. It’s an honest account of the emotions and feelings behind the stress of whether to put your fur-baby to sleep or encourage a new style of life, pain-free for as long as possible. To round out the animal antics, Freya Sampson has penned a very different look at Animal Familiars and how they impact our lives on a daily basis. This story alone

could have taken up the whole magazine; however, with limited space, it means we’ll definitely revisit this topic in the future. Both the Sacred Sites columns are absolutely amazing this month, with Freya completing Part II in the Lion Island adventure. On a human note, Jane Offer looks at building up the immune system with some sensible suggestions regarding great foods and a healthy lifestyle. The list goes on and we reckon December’s issue is another awesome read! Supernal Survey This time round we need your help in determining how Supernal moves forward in 2021 and beyond. FILM REVIEW By ShirleySienna

December 2020

whale dreamers A

s this month’s issue focuses on animals, I’ve chosen to review Whale Dreamers as it also connects into January’s Supernal mag, featuring ‘water’. Some years ago, I had the pleasure of attending a day out on Port Phillip Bay with a group of people in honour of this film. One of the guests was Bunna Lawrie who played a main role in the film. He is a loved and respected Australian musician and is also well known for his stance on the plight of the Mirning People and their land as a tribal Elder, Song-Man, and Medicine Man. Mirning means ‘listen, observe, learn and understand for knowledge and wisdom’. The Mirning land stretches along the coastal land and seabeds of the Nullabor Plain, the limestone Bunda Cliffs and the Great Australian Bight. They are the Whale Dreamers with the great white whale ‘Jeedara’ as part of their dreaming and culture.

Dreaming. The richness, beauty and sacred lore cannot continue to be disrespected for corporate and political gain. I’ve shared this film many times over the years, as it is an important story for us all. Julian Lennon, Jack Thompson, and many recognisable actors and celebrities are seen in or are involved with it. Indigenous elders and activists from all over the world came to honour and celebrate with the Mirning. A complicated journey and heartfelt in so many ways, I totally recommend watching Whale Dreamers on-line or on DVD. ShirleySienna

There is much to the plight of the Mirning: land rights and environmental issues are like a plague, an ongoing cause for concern. This film inspires us to seek further information about the energy, the people, the land, and to remember we are all a part of the

SUPERNAL EVENTS Ceremony of Activation and Healing for Mother Earth By Louise Clarke

On 21 December 2020 there is an opportunity to participate in an activation the Original Peoples of Australia have been waiting for since the dawn of creation. In the heart of Australia, at the ancient and sacred site of Uluru, Lore Keepers and Original Elders - have been preparing their entire lives for many generations to facilitate a ceremony of activation and healing for Mother Earth. A ceremony to activate a Rainbow Bridge between the centre of the earth and the cosmos, reactivate the natural songlines and raise the alignment and consciousness of Mother Earth and her children. Here is guidance for the Ceremony, from the Original People as shared by Julia Williams and Timothy Mark Fish, in consultation with the Lore Keepers. Regardless of where you are in the world, you may positively contribute your energy at the time of the Solstice. The location and time in Australia is irrelevant. It is the energy of the Ceremony that is important. The energy is a combination of the universal energies of change, presented by the conjunct, the energy of new growth from the solstice, and the energy of pure love from all of us; warming the heart of Mother.

With a cleansed body, heart, mind and soul, the intention is: “A pure love for Mother in our heart, as we ask to energise the Heart of Mother Earth with our love and energy.” The advice for cleansing is to immerse yourself in natural water waterfalls, the ocean, rain, tank water, a river or stream. You can also smoke/smudge your body using Eucalyptus leaves collected from the ground, not taken from the tree out of respect for Mother. That’s the proper way. Cleansing is to begin now, until the ceremony. Removing distractions and negativity from your life is also recommended. Meditate daily in order to build intention, and on the Solstice, meditate for 30 minutes to an hour to build the energy to be sent. At the time of the solstice, wherever you are, then send the clear intention of reenergising pure love and energy to the heart of Mother Earth. The energy can be sent from the root of the body into the songlines or through the third eye to Uluru. Your help is important and necessary for this Ceremony to work. The rest will be taken care of by the Original caretakers of the land.

The focus is on the Earth, not ourselves. There’s no need for this ceremony to be complicated. All we need is a singular focussed, specific thought, feeling and intention focussing on reinvigorating Mother Earth, and raising her conscious vibration.

Dr Malcolm’s Way By Anthony Kilner

“I do believe you should be looking inside the box as well though to make sure you’re doing the best job possible.”

There are a lot of decisions to be made before an amputation on an animal such as dogs and cats occurs, especially when it’s not an emergency. We were lucky enough to have a little time up our sleeves before a final decision had to be made with Jet.

Supernal Magazine

This process was made easier because of Dr Malcolm’s patience with helping us to understand that these days’ big dogs can survive and thrive after an amputation. Here’s just a snippet of the video interview. Watch the full interview HERE.

Who is Dr Malcolm Ware? “The whole of my life I’ve always wanted to be a vet, from childhood it was all I wanted to be, there was no other option. Even as I went through school, I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t got into Vet Science. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. “Initially I started in a mixed practice with cattle, horses, dogs and cats, that’s what I believe I wanted to do. As the years past I realised I wanted to focus on surgery. As time went on, I realised there must be other options. I built my own practice where we could provide direct treatment and bring in a whole lot of other avenues to achieve the best possible results. From what started as a one vet practice in 1987, we are now a 14 vet practice encompassing just about everything that is possible. “We’ve always tried to make sure people understand there is more than one option, and assist them in choosing the best for them and their animal. Too often veterinarians go down the track they’re most comfortable with and they’ll stick with doing the same thing without looking outside box. I do believe you should be looking inside the box as well though to make sure you’re doing the best job possible.”

interview

What took you down the path for holistic treatment for animal welfare? “It was actually multifaceted. For many years I was in mainstream practice and you’re doing your daily consults and dealing with conditions that are presented to you. I found that you are addressing the condition that’s presented to you at the time, rather than taking into account any pre-existing issues or any compensatory problems, and where that may lead. You would see a patient for a quick consult, treat it, yet it could be on going and as a result, you would see pre-existing issues or compensatory problems getting worse.

“In my mind, I thought there was this massive gap in the way animals and probably humans are being treated. This is what started the holistic journey, we needed to look at what has happened, before and what could occur after, in order to provide the best possible care and create a treatment plan that works right from the word go.” What gives you the most pleasure in your work and do you get attached to the animals that you treat? “The most pleasure comes from being in a position where we can dramatically improve the quality of life of the patients. We see a lot of dogs with chronic ongoing

“From our point of view, one of the most important things to do is to assess the patient, choose the right exercises at the right time and teach those to the clients so they’re doing it correctly.” “One of the biggest problems, is because of the internet. People often just go online and find an exercise and say “ok I’ll do that.” This means they’re seeing something that looks good, rather than it being the right exercise at in the right time for the animal’s condition.

Supernal Magazine

11

“From our point of view, one of the most important things to do is to assess the patient, choose the right exercises at the right time and teach those to the clients so they’re doing it correctly. An exercise done incorrectly may as well not be done at all, as it can be detrimental to the rehabilitation. We need to make sure posture is correct; you’re not over fatiguing the animal and you’re developing the exercises in line with the body’s condition and that it’s the right thing to do.” What’s the hardest part about dealing with humans around major animal trauma? “It’s actually a complex question. The hardest part is dealing with very strong emotions and finances together. It’s the hardest part. It’s hard in Australia; we live in a lucky society and don’t really appreciate the cost of good healthcare. People look at vet fees and think they’re

“From an advisory point of view, I would suggest to anyone that they should always ask a lot of questions - you need to think about these things deeply…” expensive, mix that with those strong emotions and it creates a very difficult area to deal with. “What we try to do is find the balance between what will give us a good outcome and what the individual can afford. You want to do the best job possible, there’s little point in doing that if it puts the client into a difficult financial position. From my perspective, everyone likes talking about the gold standard. In vet medicine the gold standard is the best possible treatment for that patient. For me, the gold standard is what is the best work I can do that’s in line

with the client’s budget, that produces the best and most satisfactory outcome. “From an advisory point of view, I would suggest to anyone that they should always ask a lot of questions - you need to think about these things deeply because you should never be in a position where you have to make a decision on the spot. There are very few cases where that is needed, as an example for a snake bite, apart from that it’s rare that you have to make a decision that quickly. Always know your options. Don’t think there is only ever just one option, there is always more make sure you are able to assess the whole issue. “Also, always be honest about your budget. As vets we hate having to bring money into it – it’s a fact of life. It’s pointless trying to hide from it or hide from the fact that things costs money. When there’s a great dialogue between vet and owner and everyone knows where everyone stands budget-wise, you can create a positive holistic scheme and move forward to achieve the best outcome!”

Jet s’ Journey

can honestly say we had never cried so much in our lives. This was her way of helping us from the spirit world! When Jet limped into the house one afternoon we instantly knew something was wrong. She was in pain and didn’t know what to do. This was the start of our journey into understanding the ramifications of bone cancer. We drove over to South Australia to collect Jet from her breeder when she was 8 weeks old with the return trip to Melbourne providing us time to get to know our new baby. Our previous Rottie Ella, had visited me psychically late one night, communicating she had found a puppy to help us get over her loss. When Ella passed away I

14

Supernal Magazine

When deciding on a name for our new fur baby, we were both drawn to Jet, as in the fossilised timber which is black and brown. Jet also helps to release stored pain and locked up feelings, drawing out negativity to promote control in one’s life. In this case it tied in well with Ella’s prompting to heal our sadness from the other side. That was nearly 7 years ago now and Jet has been a huge part of our lives ever since. She is intelligent, very focussed - generally on the things we don’t want her to do - and she pushes the boundaries constantly to find chinks in our armour that she can exploit.

Jet loves people and is super social. Having a Rottie with a tail was a new experience for us, as she talks with her tail and is much less scary to strangers than Ella was without a visible tail to wag. To say Jet has become more than just a dog is an understatement.

Diagnosis Cancer After Jet came in limping we headed off to the vet, dreading a diagnosis of a cruciate ligament tear. Large dog cruciate repairs are not cheap and recovery is slow. She was put on antiinflammatories, with strict instructions to be on lead for toileting and restricted from all exercise in the hope it was just a strain or bruise. Two weeks later there was little change so we pretty much knew it was a cruciate

feature and searched for a specialist to do the job. We decided to go back to the specialist vet who had been so kind and understanding when we had to put Ella down. The night before our appointment I was massaging Jet’s back and legs and found a sore spot high on the left leg near the hip, so I mentioned this to the vet when Jet was patiently being examined for cruciate injury the following day. The vet explored it and was worried straight away. This pain is a common sign of bone cancer in dogs. Extra X-rays were ordered and drugs to manage the pain, until we knew what was going on. The cruciate injury was confirmed and to our devastation the hip X-ray showed what looked to be cancer. A few days later Jet was again sedated for a bone biopsy to be 100 percent sure. We then had ten days of worry while Jet was kept drugged for the pain. Here’s where our learning began; we worked on the most likely diagnosis of cancer and started researching. In the past, the common treatment to manage bone cancer in a big dog was to put the dog to sleep once the pain was beyond management. This would generally be only a matter

of a month or two from diagnosis. Bone cancer in animals, is excruciatingly painful and once pain drugs are no longer effective it’s ‘goodnight’ for the dog. We spoke with Jet’s breeder and he was adamant: put her down. She came from a litter of ten and he told us that one of Jet’s brothers, Gus, had just been diagnosed with bone cancer. The owners had chosen an amputation and chemo and he was appalled. He did however put us in contact with them and we discovered two of the most beautiful and caring people we’ve dealt with on this journey. Another breeder also told us that big dogs don’t do well with amputation and that we should do the right thing and put her down. We were very worried about how Jet would cope on our five acres of bushy, steep scrub, especially if she was not allowed to run free. She would also have to manage a two storey house with lots of stairs. Would she be miserable, unable to chase rabbits, restrained in case she did more damage or heaven forbid, hurt the remaining rear leg? We also talked to Jet’s regular vet, Andy, who guided us through many scenarios and his

support was so genuine, it was beautiful.

lameness for those last few weeks of her life.

Our doggie chiropractor advised us that she treated a few large dogs post leg amputations and they did well. She knew our property and assured us Jet would be able to manage stairs and get around, although she would not be the same crazy nutcase who tore her cruciate in the first place.

We spoke to Petra and Chris, parents of Jet’s brother Gus, discussing their emotions and decision making around his cancer. How upset they were, how much work it was for the first week or so after his return home, the cost and also how happy he was and how they were certain they had done the right thing. The gamut of emotions was huge, yet it was wonderful to talk to people who had so recently been in our situation and understood how torn we felt. On a sad note Gus, passed away recently and the loss for Petra, Chris and Gwen, their other Rottie, is huge. Our heartfelt condolences go out to them.

We had a range of discussions and visits with specialist vet, Dr Malcolm Were and his team (read his story on Page 10 and watch the video HERE) who were very clear that it was our decision and whichever way we chose would be the right one. They also assured us that with the right rehab, attention to diet and lots of love, Jet could live a fairly normal and pain free life on three legs. The fact that Jet was slim, very fit and healthy was also a consideration for the amputation. In large breeds managing weight before and after surgery is crucial to a good recovery. We also had to consider the damage to her cruciate. If we amputated, that problem went with the leg. If we did not amputate, in addition to the cancer pain she would also be dealing with the cruciate pain and

16

Supernal Magazine

We also researched every available alternative therapy to help both Jet and ourselves. We called on our friend Helen DaVita, medium, spiritual teacher and animal communication specialist in Ireland, who agreed to try and communicate with Jet. Quite late one night Jet started making weird but happy noises, and her legs started moving; it lasted about five minutes. Moments later, I received a message from Helen to say she’d just made contact and here’s what Jet communicated:

feature Hi Anthony – I’ve made a connection with her and a short communication. What she appears to be showing me is her priority for quality of life and independence to move as freely as possible. She absolutely knows and trusts your decision is based upon making this possible. She is not concerned about losing the leg if that is what you decide. She knows that she will adapt. However, her heart is beating fast and she keeps showing me x-rays. My sense from her is another image is needed again before deciding when and if you go ahead. I’m shown that this will help you know with timing whether the bones are stable for a while. It could be a memory of a previous imaging test or a review needed that she has shown, the feeling is it will help you and Jane know what is right. She is very content. As more comes in I will let you know. The interesting thing about Helen’s words was that before any amputation the dog is checked over thoroughly to ensure they are a good candidate. Jet’s front legs were x-rayed as well as the remaining rear and while there was an anomaly in one front leg, which could have been the beginnings of cancer, we decided not to investigate that further.

As a result of Helen’s communication we did feel reassured that Jet was on board with any decision we made. Kangan water and research into acidic bodies versus PH neutral bodies, was another focus of our research. Many cancers and other conditions don’t survive well in a PH neutral body. Having worked with people and animals for many years, facilitating energy work, especially with Ella, I started doing meditations and giving hands on healing to Jet. She enjoys these sessions and loves sitting with her back to me, moving her body to guide my hands. When she’s had enough she simply wanders off. LifeWave patches were another avenue we explored. These are designed for humans primarily, although there have been plenty of cases where the patches are used on animals with excellent results. We know they won’t be harmful to her and, although it goes against the company’s official human only product information, we thought we had nothing to lose. Through all our researching we had to also keep in mind that there is not much chance of surviving this type of cancer. 95 percent of the

time, once it’s discovered it’s already too late. Our main aim was to ensure that Jet would be pain free and happy for as long as possible. Then the final word came. Bone cancer, Osteosarcoma to be specific, was confirmed and we needed to make a choice ASAP. This particular cancer spreads quickly (micrometastasis) and once in the lungs, it’s only a few weeks before they can’t breathe and that is the end. We were devastated. We knew the reality of a pain-free life on three legs might be for as little as a few months, or as much as several years. We had caught the cancer early though and its location high on the leg, which is uncommon, meant that the whole leg would have to be amputated, which might also slow the spread. Armed with that knowledge and knowing Malcolm was experienced in pain management and a rehab specialist, we decided to book Jet in and she was operated on within days.

The Journey With heavy hearts and still with many misgivings about the amputation, we dropped Jet off for her

surgery. We both hoped she would forgive us and be happy. We did not hear from the vet until late that night and after his call we received photos from the nurses that showed Jet up and about, while discretely concealing the fact that the leg was gone. These nurses were brilliant. They sent texts and photos twice daily from Jet, explaining how she was feeling. We also had a daily update from one of the vets. After a couple of days Jet was almost ready to come home when a Seroma, a fluid filled lump under the skin, was discovered. The vets wanted that settled before she came home, so it was four days post-surgery before we got to bring her home. This was exciting and scary because while we had seen the pics and had one postsurgery visit, we still weren’t sure what to expect. How would a tri-paw Rottie act and function? Arriving at the vets we were taken into a room and Jet was brought in – at that stage she was so excited to see us, Jane was in tears and we both got huge licks. We got the full brief on the meds, care needed and we took our baby home.

Road to Recovery Jet managed amazingly well, all things considered. She was toileting by herself, albeit awkwardly, moving although carefully and enjoying plenty of attention. She slept in our room as we needed to monitor and limit her movement and be available for frequent toileting. The day after collecting her, the Seroma burst, leaving blood spattered all over the floor and on us. A panicked call to the vet and back she went! Luckily it was nothing major and a new bandage, more care instructions, and we were home again. The next two weeks were a struggle. Lack of sleep and constant care took a toll. We had moved into COVID lockdown at that stage, so Jane was now working at home full time, which was great as we could keep Jet confined in her small office. Perfect for recovery yet somewhat distracting for work! We had been warned by Gus’s parents it was going to be torrid; we soon learnt expecting and experiencing are two different things! Every day was an improvement and as Jet went off the drugs, she started to return to normal. Her cheeky ways and attitude returned, including

the need to bounce and jump up every time we went out in the car! It’s a big adjustment having a tri-paw. They walk differently yet can run almost as fast as before. Jet still sneaks off if we are not looking when we are outside and, with selective deafness, chooses when she wants to come back! She looks a bit weird when lying down in certain positions and looks even weirder, if that’s possible, when she lies on her back with only three legs in the air. She gets tired quickly and we may never get to a point where she can do long walks, however she loves the short ones and hanging out with us in the garden. We are giving her daily rehab and massage at home. I became a distributor of the LifeWave and Kangan water products and we let Jet choose which water she wants. She is still going to rehab at the vet’s fortnightly as I write this and melting the hearts of the rehab team who are fabulous. We don’t know how long she will be with us however we are all happily adjusting to a new way of life, loving her and putting up with her super cheeky attitude! Anthony Kilner & Jane Miller

he process of remembering you’re a ‘witch’ is no easy task in this world; it’s often misconstrued and misunderstood. For the purposes of this article, a ‘witch’ is a person who is connected to and masterfully works with nature. In the dark-ages women and men, with these abilities, were imprisoned, tortured, burned, hung, drowned and even coerced into utilising their skills for harmful purposes. It is true that, as with all professions, polarities of nature come into play, both positive and negative

20

Supernal Magazine

Fortunately, nature has extraordinary systems in place to retain wisdom and continue its rebirth. Now, after the decimation of generations of wise-ones, we find ourselves, many of those murdered in centuries past, reincarnated in the modern era in the midst of The Great Awakening. St Francis of Assisi, canonised in 1228 and declared Saint Francis the Patron Saint of Ecology in 1979, was famous for his deep connection to animals. He saw God reflected in nature. In the Canticle of the Sun, he praises God by giving thanks for Brother Sun, Sister Moon, Brother Wind, Water, Fire, and Earth.

attitudes and applications of any skill. Since the uprising of Christianity, witches were feared and vilified due to their power, and, beginning with the Crusades in 1095AD, genocide was inflicted upon them. This practice was taken out into the world into countless unsuspecting cultures continuing this misguided behaviour; the murder of the medicine men and women, shaman and wise-ones in every land, tribe and people were attacked by these invaders and their cultures almost totally destroyed. They either converted to Christianity or were brutally killed.

The Fioretti, ‘The Little Flowers’, is a collection of stories that surrounds the life of Saint Francis. ◊

One day, while Francis was traveling with some companions, they happened upon a place in the road where birds filled the trees on either side. Francis said, “Wait for me while I go to preach to my sisters, the birds.” The birds surrounded him, intrigued by the power of his voice and none flew away.

In the city of Gubbio was a wolf, ‘terrifying and ferocious, devouring men and animals’. Francis went into the hills and found the wolf. He made the sign of the cross, commanded the wolf to come to him and harm no one. He led the wolf into the town where,

feature surrounded by startled citizens, a pact was made between them and the wolf. The wolf had ‘done evil out of hunger’; the townsfolk were to feed the wolf regularly and the wolf would no longer prey upon them or their flocks. Gubbio was freed.

Types of Spirit Animals For eons across the world, the cunning people intrinsically connected to ‘Earth Wisdom’ worked with animals. In different cultures, they are given different titles and also had different purposes. ◊

A ‘Familiar’ is described as a spirit in the shape of a cat, bird or another animal that is the close friend or companion to a witch or cunning person.

A ‘Spirit Animal’ refers to a spirit, which helps guide or protect a person on a journey and whose characteristics that person shares or embodies.

A ‘Totem Animal’ serves as a distinctive, often venerated emblem or symbol. A means of personal or spiritual identity.

What is the difference between a Pet and a Familiar? The difference between an ordinary pet and a spiritual familiar is their purpose.

A familiar adds to the energies and skills of their magically bonded person, whereas, a pet gives comfort and love. This can reduce stress and offer companionship, keeping their owner grounded and at peace. A familiar also offers these qualities in addition to their alchemical gifts.

between them and sharing a common bond and goal. In the practice of magic, both parties work as ‘one being’ during ritual, each feeling the other’s feelings. This is the truth in essence and depending on how long, over many lifetimes, the bond has existed, it will be evident in ‘normal’ life as well. Depending upon their skill-set, the familiar can help their person stay grounded, focused and may even share their strength. This is of course a twoway street. Therefore, one perceives what they perceive, feels, senses, and smells what they smell and this can also occur at a distance. Please allow me to introduce you to some of my familiars - Eclipse, Phoenix, Kundalini and, Odin and Freya. Arrival

How Does One Get A Familiar? A person, ‘a magical adept’, who seeks a familiar, maybe rewarded with their trust and bond. Becoming a familiar occurs through the honouring of freewill of both parties, born from a mutual decision

I became profoundly aware that I had two cats that had repeatedly incarnated with me when their idiosyncrasies translated across incarnations. They look at me with disgusted glares, pick up food with their paws and throw food at the wall if they did not like it. What the…. Phoenix!

When Eclipse returned to me this time, I heard a loud clear voice in my consciousness, “I’m ready, come and get me.” I checked of course, “Who are you?” Which was met by one of those ‘only a cat can give looks’ on the inner plane and I promptly asked, “Where are you?” He reminded me that we’d agreed he’d come back as a black, male and to look on Gumtree. He was 10-weeks old. Immediately we bonded. The lady told me that he wouldn’t sit still for a photo, he was too dark to get a decent picture and detested his tummy being touched. After paying her, I telepathed him, “Sit up, you’re having your kitten picture.” Sitting bolt upright

his photo was gorgeous. Don’t you agree? The lady was shocked, “How did you do that!?” Easy. “He’s my cat.” After thanking and saying goodbye to his mother and sister, we departed. Within 24 hours I sent this photo of him to his former carer, spreadeagled, luxuriating in having his belly stroked. Shamanic Healing Immediately we began Eclipse’s training. He wore a hematite bracelet as a collar, as it has the frequency of Spiritual Grounding. He would sit with me for hours in Crystal Dreaming Sessions, looking at me frantically, eyes wide, when an entity was present or going near to a person to show me where emotional trauma was being held in the body. All the while my client, eyes closed, was unaware of these goings-on. Eclipse is an adept Crystal Dreamer and Phoenix, his beloved, has recently stepped up and is undertaking her apprenticeship, after being bitten by a Werecat... that’s another story. When I work away from home Ravens assist me. They appear at points

during sessions to caw, notifying me of negative entities, particularly the demonic kind. I like to call the Ravens nature’s alarm system as these beings protect me from any approaching harm and they often appear when I am recounting those sessions to my apprentices, When I leave my family home, Odin and Freya, the pair of Ravens who have lived there and raised their yearly brood, for 26 years, will fly several blocks down to see me off. The beautiful Kundalini I recall from the Temples of Isis. She is ever-present on the inner plane and also assists people to recover their fear of snakes. Dreamwork Eclipse, Phoenix and Kundalini are proficient in this skill and prolific in their appearances, choosing to assist other people at times. Supernal’s fearless leader and Editor, who didn’t even consider himself a cat person, can attest to this truth. Ed’s Note: I certainly can! Walking a Shamanic path, there are initiations of all sorts. They occur in everyday life, during sessions with clients and in the dreamstate. There are numerous occasions when my familiars

feature have assisted with these processes in all states. One night as I enjoyed a glass of red wine, Eclipse said to me, “Do not lose your consciousness!” I assured him I would not. That night I had a very vivid and involved dream, which culminated in Phoenix, Eclipse and I making a getaway from a powerful demon in a car, which appeared from nowhere (lol). Then I awoke, back in my ‘conscious’ state, completely forgetting what had just occurred. Eclipse opened his eyes and looked at me from the foot of the bed and said, “I told you NOT to lose your consciousness!” Instantly I recalled the dream, went back to sleep and attended to the situation, conscious in my dreamstate. Then awoke, free from demonic influence. Pilgrimage

vivarium. I said I would telepath Eclipse that chilli powder would be administered to the location. I did and he stopped! Upon returning whilst cleaning, I found Eclipse had removed six feathers from the vase and laid them in a circle on top of the Crystal Dreaming room roof and placed my peacock feather blessing-wand in the centre. I use this to activate people’s inner-sight. He was sleeping here during his day and my night, to amplify our connection. Peacock feather eyes represent ‘the blue pearl’, a part of the etheric body located around the pineal gland, which is the peace point within the Third Eye. How extraordinary are my familiars, I cannot imagine life without them. I also hope you find yours as well! Blessed Be

For my 42nd birthday, I journeyed to Sacred Sites across Europe. Whilst journeying, I felt my familiars constantly with me. Eclipse had been left with specific instructions NOT to touch the peacock feathers in the vase and NOT to get on top of Kundalini’s vivarium. I received word from the person keeping an eye on things that Eclipse was getting on top of the Image Credit: Freya Sampson

The Before and After

- Life of Greyhounds

By ShirleySienna Sean Lithgow Greyhound Trainer - Lithgow Kennels The life of a greyhound trainer begins nice and early with the yelling of the dogs for their breakfast. Once fed and emptied, there’s a free gallop at the straight track or a walk with interesting things to look at, like the favourites - rabbits and sheep! Once the race-dogs are worked, the puppies are released from their indoor enclosures into their day runs, each approximately 70-80 metres, which I’d liken to the ‘running of the bulls’ in Spain.

My surprise at ending up with a greyhound for company diminishes in comparison to my fascination with the lives and personality of these creatures. They are rehomed by the thousands each year and the effect they have on the humans who both foster and adopt them is phenomenal. In the two years I have shared my life with ‘Keanu’, formerly known as ‘Black Typhos’, he has filled my days and my heart with joy and hilarity,

26

Supernal Magazine

I have learned that adopting a greyhound is a life-changing anomaly. In 2016, I had a vision of myself walking a greyhound on the foreshore trail. I quickly dismissed the idea yet the universe continued to inundate me and I began perusing the GAP (Greyhound Adoption Program) website, which I followed up with a visit. I was presented with an extremely large black male dog. He decided I was his, jumped into the back seat of the car and the rest is history…

While Mel and I try to avoid being flattened in the chaos, they play chase, keepings off and destroyer of toys! The retired greys occasionally wander out to stir up the troops, or challenge them to some running. Come evening, if we are not racing at one of the 14 tracks in Victoria, we bring all the race dogs and pups back inside for dinner and treat any niggles and sore spots. They love the ultrasound and magnetic therapy, their own personal massage! The race-dogs have individual kennels and the pups share with one or two buddies. In cool weather, jumpers are applied and lights turned out. Before sleep arrives for the greys, they give us a treat with all the local dogs, howling in unison…What a beautiful symphony they provide!

feature the eyes of a strong fit healthy dog while it takes its last breath is a heartbreaking experience. Many years later, when our adored German shorthaired pointer passed away, my thoughts kept returning to greyhounds, so I started researching Greyhound Adoption Groups.

Greyhounds are large dogs that can sleep for 18-20 hours a day and live up to 15 years. Greyhounds can be adopted from rescue and rehoming societies or trainers. They can be ex-racers, never raced, breeders or pups. Breeding outside of the industry is a no-no and your dog is expected to be de-sexed.

Luckily my husband was easily convinced. Why help one greyhound when we could assist many by becoming foster carers? Within weeks our first foster arrived. As this timid underweight girl with bald thighs and skin peeling off her tummy jumped into our car, we immediately fell in love with her. She lapped up all the TLC we could give her and soon blossomed into a black beauty. Then within weeks, she was gone. We were shattered, as Jett had found her forever family who lived hundreds of miles away. It was as if she had died and our tears flowed. A week later we met Sophie, an extremely timid

and traumatised dog who had been seized by authorities. Sophie took our pain away; she needed us as much as we needed her. We then decided we had room in our hearts and home for two fosters and so welcomed Elle. OMG, we had turned into crazy greyhound people! Demi arrived next and became our first ‘foster fail’, meaning we adopted her. Demi now assists us with our fosters. She graciously welcomes them into our home, teaching them the ropes and helping them as they transition into ‘pet life’. Each of our foster’s has taught us so much. Some come to us from loving owners while others are not so lucky. As foster carers our job is simple; all we have to do is love and care for them. We are privileged to be a part of their journey and our reward is to see them live happily ever after with their forever families.

Catherine Ongarello – Greyhound Foster Carer and Owner My love of greyhounds stems back to working as a Vet Nurse. It was pre GAP days, so we would see perfectly healthy greyhounds being euthanasia when they were no longer wanted as racing dogs. To be by the side of an animal that is sick or suffering while it is put to sleep is an honour, however to look into

Supernal Magazine

When a greyhound is rehomed glass doors, slippery floors, being indoors, part of a family, having manners, are tastes to be acquired! Greyhounds sleep most of the day and again all night, as they are tired from sleeping most of the day! They rarely bark, some more than others. They are human and greyhound orientated. Other breeds of dogs are generally a non-plus and are mostly tolerated, however, some attach to their doggy and, more rarely, feline siblings in the same household. They are not built to swim, and may sink like a stone, which Keanu proved after my son’s 21st birthday party. However, many love a kiddie’s pool or a walk on the beach, paddling in the shallows.

They will sleep through a house break-in, the experience of one greyowner, yet they can clearly hear the slight rustle of the bread tag being removed on the other side of the house. They are loving, gentle, need a bed in every room including yours, and access to all couches. They are the ultimate creatures of habit and mindset, and will ‘shut-down’ if and when they choose. Food is an enticement and not a guaranteed incentive: so no getting in or out of the car, getting off the bed, walking in your preferred direction, or much of anything, unless and until they are willing. They are extremely sensitive change such as moving their bedding, making adjustments in the home, to their time

schedules or anything really. Vets with greyhound knowledge are the best for your grey, as they do have physical differences from other dogs. Off lead exercise is illegal in Victoria, unless in a well fenced allotted area as they have zero to little recall. Muzzles are no longer required in public. (Check your state for variances). Ashleigh Foster – Newbie to the world of Greyhounds In June 2020, my partner and I adopted our greyhound Secret, (formerly Dewana No Secret). As a first-time dog owner, I think it’s all gone very smoothly, apart from the corn on her foot in week three - apparently a greyhound thing! The first few days were overwhelming yet we’ve all adjusted quickly and have formed a beautiful bond, made easier by having plenty of support. Adopting a greyhound gives you access to a whole community of other greyhound carers with a wealth of experience to share and it has sparked many new friendships. Watching Secret come out of her shell is an amazing journey. They are a very special breed and have so much love and give us much cause for laughter! When our girl isn’t laying around sleeping, she’s doing ‘zoomies’, soul gazing, giving us snuggles or chasing flies. She’s a true joy and has inspired me to create a business designing and sewing greyhound clothing! Never did I dream…

The Power of Love By Lia Estate

Perhaps it was her destiny or intuition that manifested her becoming part of our family. Eagerly and without enticement, she jumped into the back of our vehicle and into the driver’s seat, with another six of her dog friends that wanted to join our family too. Although we offered, the breeder was not ready to part with this mob yet. So we went home with our girl as the new family member and, inspired by her personality and a 60’s sitcom, named her Gidget.

In early February 2009, the Black Friday Bushfires hit Victoria. As the fires devastated the land, she started acting differently. She began to communicate through body language her concern, as she knew what was happening to her past family of dog and horse friends left on the farm of her birth. As the land was being devastated by the fires, she clearly sensed their loss. With our love, affection and reassurances, she got through this period of her life as we all had to, a difficult time of devastation. From then on we would often communicate intuitively; although she was bilingual (English/Italian), most of the time speech was not necessary. She had a preference of wanting to spend the evening cuddling on my lap at night, all 23 kilos of her furry goodness. I enjoyed giving her long pats, cuddles and we knew each other well.

“She began to communicate through body language her concern, as she knew what was happening to her past family of dog and horse friends left on the farm of her birth.” 30

Supernal Magazine

Despite her seniority, in March 2017 as a 10 year old German Short Haired Pointer, Gidget was doing well; a lively, youthful acting and spritely member of our family. Others often mistook her age as a three year old, because of her youthful vigour. One night whilst she was cuddled up, I noticed that her front left forearm elbow skin was looking rough and scaly, something easily missed. So off we went to our vet to have it checked out. When tested, the area was found to have cancerous cells and immediate surgery was suggested to remove the affected area. However, according to our vet, the cancer threat was still there and life expectancy was only two to three months, so a course of chemotherapy was advised. I asked and it was confirmed that her quality of life would also be affected because of the treatment and her life expectancy would be a further be 4-6 months if she was lucky. This was upsetting news of course, somehow my intuition calmingly suggested to consider the alternatives and not to worry - cancer would not be an issue. So we took our beloved Gidget home, gave her our usual love and attention and I spoke to her about all this. She communicated back and let me know that she trusted her family with her wellbeing and knew all would be well.

feature During my investigations, I also discovered that the Chemo treatment would not only be debilitating to our sweet girl and her quality of life, it would also permanently contaminate anything that would come into contact with her bodily fluids during the treatment. This included our garden and the extended environment where we may have taken her for walks.

“There were regular walks, lots of cuddles and love, playing games and continued attention as a loved member of our family.

When cleaning up the contaminated areas, the vet suggested that we would need to wear protective gloves and clothing, and there would be the added risk of re-contamination and bringing contaminated matter into the house. This would be inevitable unless we completely changed her life and kept her outside in isolation whilst also ignoring the environmental impact. This, we would not do or even consider. We were not prepared to turn her life upside down, risking our beloved Gidget to feel, unaccepted and isolated, and could subject her to further detriment by causing her severe depression via perceived rejection, isolation and shunning from her pack, her family, not to mention the environmental considerations. So with intent, I embarked on a regime which she loved, incorporating back and spinal massage with hands-on healing that incorporated Matrix

Energetics Healing, Reiki and Divine Quantum Energy Healing. We continued healthy meals and healthy snacks of raw carrot as a treat to keep her spirits high. There were regular walks, lots of cuddles and love, playing games and continued attention as a loved member of our family. Gidget not only recovered from the cancer completely, she lived a further three and a half years, well past her life expectancy and past her thirteenth birthday, when she was lovingly taken to heaven, after suffering five seizures over 24 hours.

Photo & Drawing Credit: Lia Estate

Gidget is still with us of course, not only in our hearts, she is also here in spirit. We occasionally see her in the corner of our eye or hear her wandering around the house and garden. She comes to me in my dreams and thoughts several times a day. There is never a day that we don’t think of her fondly with love, as a blessing to our life. She taught and showed us unconditional love, fun and play.

“Gidget is still with us of course, not only in our hearts, she is also here in spirit. We occasionally see her in the corner of our eye or hear her wandering around the house and garden. From this experience and the love of our Gidget, we learned that all is possible if you put intent into your actions, with love and grace. We learned that although there are recognised medical treatments, they are not always the way to go for many reasons: in this instance, quality of life for our loved one, care and respect for our environment.

With our decision to refuse Chemotherapy treatment, we not only gave her a better quality of life for her final years that we had together, we also saved our environment for any future families to live in safety and peace of mind.

Your Water

Kangan water is possibly the healthiest restructured water available on the planet. There are a range of machines and products available to suit all countries, interest free terms (conditions apply) and Enagic’s distribution network is global making it easy to get a machine in your home in virtually any country! “The world is using almost 500 Billion plastic water bottles every year, the majority of which end up in our landfills and oceans. Transforming ordinary tap water into structured, hydrogen rich, electrolysed reduced water essential for health and wellbeing is the answer to this staggering problem.”

“Our Earth is a giant container of water, from which all forms of life arose. And every living thing is itself essentially a container of water. Like the Earth, we are 70 percent water. It follows, naturally, that the health of the Earth is directly proportionate to the health of ourselves.” “Not only does drinking and utilising Kangan water for cleaning and toxin removal purposes create a healthy life, there’s a unique business opportunity that allows people to live a lifestyle that is financially rewarding as well.”

Over the Rainbow Our Fur Babies = Unconditional Love By Celeste de Vis We can all remember that very first time we laid eyes on our beloved pet. We were either in a rescue shelter, at a breeder’s home or elsewhere when the Universe intentionally placed our furbaby across our path. Our fur babies give real meaning to the word relationship. Yes, they require time, training, vaccinations, worming, feeding and exercise, however, the close and exceptional bond that forms is invaluable. The more we give, the more we receive! Many people state that we have ‘saved our pet’s life’, if they were rescued and adopted from a shelter or pound, however I believe it is the contrary: our fur babies have actually saved our lives.

My body - My Choice Boost Your Immune System

By Jane Offer

Over this current world health situation, every day, we hear different methods put forward designed to protect us. Lockdowns, social distancing and now masks are all suggestions that have become regulations with a great deal of emphasis being placed on vaccine development. There’s been little or no attention given to informing the general public on the importance of keeping up our immune system as a preventative measure, or suggestions on how to do that. It’s more than eating a healthy diet; we need fresh air and sunlight, both of which are a challenge, as we cannot leave the house unless it’s for the four reasons allowing us to do so which has changed now and, when we do, masks are mandatory inside and where we can’t social distance. For some people masks really affects their breathing. Neither are we as active as usual, and that inactivity can lead to boredom, being drawn to eating sugary foods and, in some people, lowered resistance to infection. So, what can we do to help our immune system to be as strong as possible? Movement accelerates the circulation of

36

Supernal Magazine

disease-fighting white blood cells. By staying as active as possible, standing up every 20 minutes or so and walking around, going for a walk where possible, using exercise videos or a step machine or similar, reduces not only stress but also inhibits the release of stress-related hormones which create disease. For years, health professionals have been finding evidence of the connection between mental stress and physical illness, so finding effective ways to regulate your stress will likely go a long way toward better overall health. It’s essential to our immune system that we remain in as calm a state as possible. Try painting, reading, yoga or simply spending a little time just ‘being’ with yourself. Quality sleep is also vitally important to our good health and, according

“There’s been little or no attention given to informing the general public on the importance of keeping up our immune system as a preventative measure…” to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, a healthy adult who sleeps a minimum of eight hours each night shows greater resistance to catching a virus.

“For years, health professionals have been finding evidence of the connection between mental stress and physical illness…” To ensure a good sleep, try to relax before bed by closing down the computer at least

health and wellbeing an hour before bedtime, as the blue light emitted inhibits sleep. Meditation or visualisation CD’s can be beneficial to induce a relaxed state. One reason why sleep helps us fight infection may be that the body releases cytokines during extended periods of sleep. This type of protein helps the body fight infection by regulating the immune system. Then there is what we eat. In this frustrating time, snack food is such a lure, my word I recognise the draw of those chocolate biscuits! Yet many seasonal food types are supportive of our immune system when added into our everyday diet. Citrus fruits such as grapefruit, oranges, tangerines and lemons make a great snack or can be added to a juice, as they contain high levels of Vitamin C, which boosts the white blood cells to fight infection. Strawberries and kiwi fruit also are a good source of vitamin C. Vegetables that particularly support the immune system are pumpkin, broccoli and kale. One cup of pumpkin

has twice the amount of vitamin A as that of carrots. It is also a great source of vitamin C and beta carotene, which promotes a robust immune system. Broccoli is supercharged with vitamins, minerals and many other antioxidants and is one of the healthiest vegetables around. The key to keeping its power intact is to cook it as little as possible - or not at all and remember to eat organic where possible and to find ways to remove the external chemicals from herbicides and pesticides. The addition of garlic to the daily diet boosts the immune system and helps to thin the blood naturally, which reduces the blood’s ability to form clots. There is mounting evidence that COVID-19 causes abnormalities in blood clotting, indicating that patients infected with the virus appear to be at greater risk of developing blood clots in the veins and arteries. Read that story HERE: Other food types that support a healthy immune system are plain yoghurts, containing live and active cultures, such as Greek yoghurt, raw almonds, which contain a powerful antioxidant and healthy fats and green tea. Green tea is packed with flavonoids and high levels of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which enhances immune function. Green tea is steamed and not fermented, so the EGCG is preserved, whereas black tea is fermented, and this destroys a major part of the EGCGs. Green tea is also a good source of the amino acid

Finally, stay connected with friend and family through video links to have that vital contact. We are social beings, we need people, we are not designed to be isolated as it impacts our thoughts and emotions, and this lowers our resistance to illness. Some health authorities even consider social isolation a risk factor for chronic diseases. We will get through this; we will come out the other side stronger, more aware and ready to take on life in a new and informed way. Stay healthy and stay strong.

Mental Health ers tt a M Bringing Awareness to Unconscious Bias By Derran Heney

No matter how fair, unprejudiced or open to change and flexible thinking we try to be, usually there are some kind of biases with our schema, our thinking framework. As children, we readily pick up cognitive biases from significant adult role models, which are then developed further throughout our personal life experiences. These can play a large part in how we see ourselves and the people around us. “Knowing that one may be subject to bias is one thing, being able to correct it is another” - Jon Elster, 2007. A bias is a thought pattern which often relates to the way we think about the differences and similarities of others in relation to ourselves. It refers to a tendency to categorise or stereotype people and situations.

Supernal Magazine

“As children, we readily pick up cognitive biases from significant adult role models, which are then developed further throughout our personal life experiences.” While we can often be aware of our own biases, others can be sitting in the background operating without our full awareness. Bias has a lot of influence in our decision making, our choices and often in our behaviour or the ways we treat other people. The ripple effect of bias, unfortunately, can be a narrowing of our perceptions based on out-dated assumptions. We live with common societal examples daily. For example, although it is changing slowly, women in some areas of work still receive a lower wage than men, even when the assigned roles are the same. The underlying assumption may be that men do a job better than women.

Another bias tends to be that women who work and raise a family may be considered a bad parent for not being available for their children. This is an assumption based on assigned gender-based roles and the idea that women should stay home to look after the children. Both these examples have arisen from a change in women’s roles that have evolved since the

mental health information that confirms our underlying beliefs and values which then excludes alternative evidence. This can also be termed cognitive dissonance, and is an example of how bias can openly affect our own ability to expand our thinking and challenge our beliefs.

1960s, and clearly demonstrate how long it may take for ideas to change and flow with the times. Bias tends to be described as self-defeating because it prevents individual or collective growth and development. But there is also self-serving bias to be aware of, where we align credit to ourselves for favourable outcomes in life, whereas when things go the way we do not expect, we readily lay the blame elsewhere, and again creating bias.

“Another bias tends to be that women who work and raise a family may be considered a bad parent for not being available for their children. This is an assumption based on assigned gender-based roles…” One slightly different yet common example to consider is, by actively seeking

Regardless of the term we give to the bias, the consequences and outcomes of any type of bias can be negative and damaging to individuals, group cohesion, and many other situations. If left unchecked, it can cause our thinking to become irrational, to lose objectivity and the ability to critically think for ourselves. It also can marginalise others and create separation, so begs the question; how do we shift our awareness to identify bias? And how do we potentially minimise or eliminate bias once it’s identified?

“Journal the biases as you become aware of them and make links back to their source.” How to challenge biased thinking? We need to look at all sides of any situation and weigh up what the truth may be: usually it is said to be somewhere in the middle. If we can remain open to new information and possibilities, then the likelihood of bias setting in and distorting our view of the world will be limited. We need to observe our thoughts and reactions. Often strong reactions can be an indication of a situation that

does not align with our values or underlying beliefs. It is good to examine these reactions more closely to determine if there may be bias present. Ask these questions for example; • What biases could affect my judgment? • Am I doing this for the right reasons or could bias have influenced me? Journal the biases as you become aware of them and make links back to their source. Ask yourself what factors created the thinking behind these assumptions. Next, consider ways to avoid the traps of bias and how to prevent these patterns from re-surfacing. This may involve a change in the way you think or respond to situations. Another hint is to try to avoid language and words that may appear harmless but promote bias such as ‘He drives like a woman’, ‘I’m having a blonde moment’. By slowly challenging and changing our biases we can help change the world one thought at a time!

The Mentalist

Live Long & Prosper Mind & Body Alchemy By Jason D. Varga

Mystical perceptions begin with the assumption there is something beyond our day to day experience of reality. The aim of meditation is to peek into this beyond and to evolve on higher levels. Science applies observation, description, method and theoretical explanations of natural phenomena, not that dissimilar to ancient meditation principles. Buddhist manuals for meditation are precise; they have solid psychological and theoretical frameworks and, compared with modern psychology, these works are masterpieces of clarity, their conclusions oddly similar to modern scientific research

of the brains functioning at a quantum level. These mystical traditions stretch back thousands of years across many cultures; this is the science of our inner worlds. The roots of modern science owe much to these traditions; the forefathers of science were astrologers, alchemists and kitchen witches. In China, this line of development is clearer; the Taoist tradition was largely responsible for Chinese medicine, chemistry and botany. The obsession with immortality led to discoveries in plants, herbs and meditation for medical uses. Can meditation promote good health and prolong life? Schools of

“The roots of modern science owe much to these traditions; the forefathers of science were astrologers, alchemists and kitchen witches.” ‘Chi’ deal with the spiritual and physical aspects of meditation, the secret of accumulating and storing this life force inner alchemy. When most think of alchemy, they think of the transmutation of metals, lead to gold type of thinking. What we are talking about here is inner alchemy, the internal elixir of life, using psychic and spiritual techniques. In Taoist meditation this process starts at the base of the spine, Chi is tapped at the sacrum and moves up the spine, this energy is stored just below the navel, the ‘tan-tien’ equivalent to the navel chakra in Sufi teachings. The energy travels from the sacrum up to the summit of the creative, the crown, and

mental health circles back to be stored in the tan-tien. The secret laying in the subtle relationship of mind and body, the two acting as one, especially in a moving meditation such as Tai Chi Qi Gong. Action in non-action. Sensitivity to the flow of this energy is vital for development; this sensitivity is a product of mental concentration, not the furrowed brow type, rather a non-specific attentiveness. Letting go of our stream of thoughts, “Am I doing this right? What’s that noise? What do I need down the shops?” Our conscience thoughts constantly overlap, making it hard to find those spaces of peace in between. Flowing with our breath can help with quieting the barrage of internal dialogue, one should not be able to hear our breath with the ears, it should be so quiet as if it has stopped, bringing our internal conversations to an end and finding that inner stillness.

: Pixabay, J.D.Varga

With this stillness comes a dissipation of fears and anxiety, a feeling of relief and reconciliation. Deep meditation results in a chemical change in the mind and body. This form of inner alchemy is a natural version of what the psychologists and psychiatrists study along with the introduction of external chemicals and drugs to the body’s natural system. We create a space to view the world and ourselves free of distraction, letting the mind be open, feeling the flow of the energy without trying to control it; our body knows what to do if we allow it and do not interfere. Meditation should begin at the ego’s outermost layer, those discursive thoughts that continually run through our minds, releasing this mental gossip. Carl Jung writes, “The key is this; we must be able to let things happen in the psyche. For us this becomes a real art of which few people know anything. Consciousness is forever

interfering, helping, correcting, negating, never leaving the simple growth of the psyche in peace.” Let go of our training and experience to make things happen, to plan, to acquire. Find that space between the thoughts and go beyond. Being centred and still. Coming to a simple awareness of the emptiness between our bodily and mental memorabilia and our future expectations. In this space, we can allow our psyche and our physical body to evolve and heal uninterrupted. As a parting thought, if you do not think you have time to meditate for five minutes each day, then you really ought to be meditating for half an hour each day.

“With this stillness comes a dissipation of fears and anxiety, a feeling of relief and reconciliation.” From my family to yours, we hope you have a fabulous Christmas and that 2021 brings peace (ESPecially internally) and joy to you and yours! ESPecially best wishes The Mentalist

Spirit of things Pets in Heaven

Losing a pet is a difficult experience that we have to endure as a pet parent and it can be a similar grieving process to losing a much loved family member or friend. Our pets love us unconditionally, they never judge us and love us more than they love themselves. Dogs are truly a man’s best friend and they are very in tune with us and our routine. They know when we are due home, they sense our sadness and when we are unwell. So, when we lose them, our whole life changes and there is a period of adjustment. Do our pets go to heaven? The answer is, yes, they do. As I was typing this actual sentence, a lady contacted me, synchronistically - her question was, “I’ve just had to put my dog to sleep. Do dogs go to heaven? I’m so upset.” The power of spirit never ceases to amaze me. I love how creation aligns! I have read a few books about animals in spirit as well as having lots of experiences myself in readings. One book in particular is Life after Death by Neville Randall. This book tells of many spiritual communications that took place whilst Medium, Leslie Flint, was in trance.

One story in particular was about George, a twice divorced, grumpy rag and bone man whose cart was pulled by his beloved horse Jenny, the only female he ever loved. After dying from a bout of pneumonia, George awoke to find himself propped up against a tree in a field being gently nudged by none other than Jenny herself.

at 18 years old. My mum, now in spirit, adored him, so one morning I repeatedly asked her to give me a sign that Ollie was with her. Later that day, in my car I heard a voice “look to the left,” and to my surprise there was a car numberplate with Ollie 16, as an amazing confirmation from mum that he was with her. In a recent Zoom mediumship demonstration, I became aware of a gentleman in spirit who wanted to talk to his son. He had helped him with his aviaries and he showed me an exquisite little bluebird, telling me it was very rare, and that he had nursed this little bird back to health. The information about the bird that it was still with him was confirmation to his son through this beautiful memory. When asked about a deceased pet in a reading, I’ve always

mediumship explained that a family member or friend will be stepping forward to assist as they give me the animals name, what it passed with and that the pet still sees them. Often another pet within the family will see the deceased pet and react in a particular way, making them aware if its presence. My dog sits in my reading room whilst I work, and when he senses a spirit dog, he whimpers as acknowledgement. It is fascinating to watch.

“Do our pets go to heaven? The answer is, yes, they do.” There have been a few good movies released about dogs in particular and I love the story of the dog starting out as a puppy belonging to a young boy. He taught the dog to catch a football in its mouth whilst also jumping over him. When his dog died, its soul came back a few times as a different dog, each

time helping the new owner in some way. Fast forward to the original boy, who was now an older man. He was having difficulties with his estranged daughter. She had left taking his granddaughter with her. The granddaughter came across a stray dog who looked after her when her mother left her on her own. The daughter eventually reunites with her parents, visiting them with their granddaughter and the stray dog. And, you guessed it, the stray dog did the same trick and even recognised the older man; it was spine tingling and fantastic. What a wonderful thought and I hope this article has made you think and smile too!

Divine Divine Time Time Rhythmic Equality

To quote certain lines from the great George Gershwin’s song, I Got Rhythm - “I got rhythm, I got music who could ask for anything more?” Well in this 6th moon, the Rhythmic Moon of Equality, this is what you need not simply to ask for, rather command it!

“…it poses the question “How can I extend my equality to others?” How indeed, should one’s own outlook, or should that be ‘in look’, is not up to par?”

December 13th 2020, which is an 11 numeric vibration in the Gregorian calendar, means it’s a good time to check upon the fragile boundaries of freedom and liberation and how they are working in your life! The lizard totem is this 28 day Moon, and it poses the question “How can I extend my equality to others?” How indeed, should one’s own outlook, or should that be ‘in look’, is not up to par?

about yourself to others, all emphasise what you are projecting to the world and to yourself.

The word ‘Isochrony’ is the postulated rhythmic division of time into equal portions by a language. Rhythm is an aspect of prosody, with other aspects being intonation, stress and tempo. Without sending you to Google, I’ll simply say that you can gauge your state of equality by listening. The presence of irony or sarcasm, the emphasis and contrast that is reflected in the way others speak to or about you, how your inner voice speaks to or about you, and the way in which you speak

So December, 13th in kin code is #259 Blue Crystal Storm, which is your conscious self and who you are becoming. Traveling through 28 days of rhythmic energy, you may

find patterns of personal and global dissent. One cannot help it; question, pause, listen and ‘feel’ if one is really in harmony, in rhythm, not only with the sound of the outer world, also with what one knows is within the psyche, the soul and one’s own divine blueprint. Looking into the mechanics of Personality and Design; shows us that we live as beings opposed to finding a way to dwell in true harmony with the rhythm of life. Our personality, ‘who we think we are’ and our design; ‘how we are ‘moving through the world’ as expressed by our conscious and unconscious selves, tends to create a seesaw of imbalance or inequality, both within and without. Fast-tracking to the 9th January, aghast! This means 2021 has slipped in before

divine guidance this Moon is done, and we find we have arrived at the giant Cosmic World-Bridger Kin #26. This will readily offer release us from bondage, to surrender rather than give up, and to assist us with the falling away of old ideas, ideals and idiosyncrasies. Thus giving us permission to open up to grasping the new; people, experiences, directions and ultimately, freedoms that are on offer. This will resonate as you shift forward each day from this point and you will understand the notes, riffs and refrains that the Rhythmic Tone of Equality is endeavouring to ‘play’! Enable the self, accept no less than your personal freedom, and dance to your own tune. Reflect again to that old Gershwin number, use it as a positive affirmation - “I got Rhythm, I got music, who could ask for anything more!”

“With the outgoing of 2020 and the incoming 2021, it is important to step up and allow change into your whole life.”

How you go about all this depends on your personal blueprint. With the outgoing of 2020 and the incoming 2021, it is important to step up and allow change into your whole life. This entire Rhythmic Moon is designed to reflect back to you how you perceive yourself, how you perceive others and how you perceive the world. There is no right or wrong, simply plenty of room for adjustment. Take some time out to ponder what equality really means. What is the balance of harmony and how do I attain and maintain it? What do I do with it, even if I achieve it? How will I know I have it? Makes it all sound very confusing doesn’t it? December 31st and January 1st respectively are ’Kin #17 Red Self Existing Earth:

“I define in order to evolve. Measuring synchronicity I seal the matrix of navigation with the self-existing tone of form, I am guided by the power of space.” And Kin #18 White Overtone Mirror, “I empower in order to reflect. Commanding order I seal the matrix of endlessness. With the overtone tone of adiance, I am guided by the power of death.” On the eve’ of the New Year, take a cup of kindness, fill it with Self Love, Appreciation and Gratitude. Drink till you are giddy and filled with the spirit of resonance, may it welcome in your Highest Good! Happy New Year!

Sacred Sites

By Louise Clarke

Uluru-Kata Tjuta

Without a doubt, Uluru is the most iconic and beloved natural site on the big red island of Australia. It is synonymous with the rest of the world’s recognition of the Indigenous culture of the land. Dwarfing the Eiffel Tower to give you a perspective, this staggering sandstone monolith rises 348m above the surrounding desert, though most of its bulk is located underground. However, Uluru is more than just a rock. It is a living cultural landscape that is held sacred by the Anangu Peoples of the area, particularly the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara, the traditional owners of the land. They have lived in the deserts of Central Australia for tens of thousands of years, way before the arrival of the white settlers. They lead a nomadic

hunting and gathering way of life, rooted deeply in a spiritual relationship with the land. The original meaning of the word Anangu is ‘human being, person’ or ‘human body’ and is the oldest culture known to man, dating back sixty thousand years. The Anangu believe that today’s world was created at the beginning of time by the travels of heroic ancestral beings who roamed the land before humans existed. As these beings roamed from place to place, the interactions they experienced shaped the landscape and they left some of their spirit behind. Thus, the exploits of Anangu’s spiritual ancestors are mapped throughout the land in topographic features such as waterholes, rock formations, caves, hills and gorges. These sites are regarded as sacred and are connected by ‘Iwara’, the paths the ancestors created as they travelled the land. These paths are significant both in terms of travel and social connection, as they recount ancestral tales in the form of song cycles that may take days to sing.

“The Anangu believe that today’s world was created at the beginning of time by the travels of heroic ancestral beings who roamed the land before humans existed.” named and countless secret sacred sites and numerous Iwara criss-crossing the area. Central to Anangu culture is ‘Tjukurpa’, which represents their way of life as a whole: their law, philosophy and religion, relationships between people, animals, plants and the land, and an understanding of what these relationships mean and how they should be maintained. Tjukurpa stories are also used as maps and represent complex explanations of the origins and structure of the universe and the place and behaviour of all elements within it. In essence, it shapes their systems of morality and guides daily life,

sacred sites which essentially includes the Anangu’s responsibility as caretakers of the natural environment.

“These paths are significant both in terms of travel and social connection, as they recount ancestral tales in the form of song cycles that may take days to sing.” Tjukurpa is passed through symbolic stories, oral narratives, song cycles, ceremony and art, all of which are interconnected with the landscape. The understanding and depth of Tjukurpa increases throughout a person’s life. It is an oral tradition that is passed onto selected individuals like an inheritance from one generation to the next through ceremony. It stands to reason then that the Anangu Lore Keepers are the ones to facilitate the completion of an extremely important activation ceremony occurring on the 21st December 2020. This commenced at the dawn of creation making Uluru-Kata Tjuta the ritual centre for this activation.

The purpose of the ceremony is to facilitate a Rainbow Bridge between the centre of the Earth and the Cosmos, reactivate the natural songlines and raise the consciousness of Mother Earth and her children. Essentially, the solar umbilical cord allows higher frequencies of life to exist on Earth and stimulates further evolution. I spoke to Timothy Mark Fish from the Cadigal mob of the Eora Nation who has known intuitively about this ceremony since childhood. Ten years ago, an Elder shared details of the ceremony with him and he has been preparing for it ever since. Anyone can positively contribute and participate energetically in this ceremony. It is not necessary to be on-site at Uluru-Kata Tjuta. Timothy told me that “Mother needs warming and we have at our disposal the most efficient warming energy in the Universe - Love! “When enough people send thoughts and energy of pure love to Mother, Mother feels the love and warms her heart. “A hibernating Serpent requires warming to awaken. When we warm Mother we initiate an

incubation process that will rouse the Rainbow Serpent from her long slumber, bringing forth the changes to Mother that are said to come next.

“The purpose of the ceremony is to facilitate a Rainbow Bridge between the centre of the Earth and the Cosmos…” “The intention of the ceremony is a pure love for Mother in our heart as we ask to energise the Heart of Mother Earth with our love and energy.” For details on how to participate in this ceremony visit the Events section of this issue on PAGE 9. This link created via Story Spheres of Uluru-Kata Tjuta allows people to explore this sacred space, complete with soundscape and indigenous storytelling. https://storyspheres.com/ uluru/kuniyatjukurpa We are living in incredible times! Imagine what an honour it is to be present and able to help reactivate the energies of Mother Earth and assist the Anangu Lore Keepers with this momentous task!

Lion Island – The Origins of Man Pt II By Freya Savitri Sampson - Custodian Eartheart This is the continuation of an amazing interview with Colin Hayter from last issue. Colin takes up the story. “They then took Mene out into the world, to teach original teachings into man, to give them knowledge, so they could survive the timeline of the KY. They taught there; building, agriculture, medicine, navigation, astronomy, writing and mathematics.” “Mene’s journey around the world is evidenced in their ideograms. He is always drawn with his little dwarf (uncle). In South America - Hopi Indians called him Masaur, they took Star-Lore into North America. “Mene went on to Greece where he’s called Minos (bull). Interestingly the Southern Pole Star, is called Apis (bull). In North India he is Manu, then he appears in Crete and Spain. This great sharing of technology is not limited to the things before mentioned, it includes flora and fauna. Science sheds light on this sharing - rare species of monkey, indigenous to Southern India have been found mummified in Egyptian tombs, also bovine from

“This land, Australia is The Creator’s Garden and no structures were allowed to be built here.” “Lion Island (LI), lays on a Song Line of balance, running East to West, upon it: LI, Karijong Glyphs, Khufu’s Tomb and more sites as it progresses. The word pyramid means fire in the centre. The Son of Light (TSOL) made his journey, following the rays of the Sun, which arrive directly in the triangle’s centre. Hence TSOL’s journey: equilateral triangle. That became a town plan for the Egyptians. They decided to build a mound on the other side of the Earth

for the Great Mother to stretch (through KY), including The Sphinx, Giza Pyramids, The Temple of Isis and the House of Hernetson, copied to the centimetre, from what has been found in Australia; the Tomb for Khufu, The Glyphs and LI.” Colin explained, “The Egyptians utilised a technique called ‘Meh measure’, meaning to put living magic into something mathematical. This is where the subject coined ‘sacred geometry’ arises from. When you divide something by 7, it becomes ‘meh measure’. The distance of TSOL’s journey, divided by 7, is 3.3miles and is equal to the perimeter of the Giza Plateau. They copied LI, by shrinking it to 1/7th exactly,

sacred sites to create The Sphinx. LI is 523m long (the length of an Egyptian royal cubit), when it is shrunk to 1/7th it becomes 74.145287m, the length of the Sphinx exactly. LI is 159m tall, shrunk by 7 it becomes 22m and LI is 130m wide, which when divided by 7 becomes 17.6m, both of which are the height and width of The Sphinx.” I asked Colin why then are there no structures in Australia? “This land, Australia is The Creator’s Garden and no structures were allowed to be built here. It was not that the Australian Aboriginals were not able, they were Custodians of the garden and it was Law that no one may build here. “When Menes passed, it is told that he died for us humanity, to take us all back to Mother. His body was not resurrected; it was his ‘Ka’ (spirit). Each night he sails on the night boat, to take the passed over souls back to that place where our heart is weighed against the lightness of a feather.

“The word pyramid means fire in the centre.” I concur with Colin; Yes, at the end of our Earth-walk do we hold regret, judgement, shame/blame unforgiveness, resentment? “Our name appears on TTOL and there we pass through into the garden. What Mene is famous for in Guringai Law is in that place he used his magi to create a second dimension, for our ancestors to exist alongside us on Earth. In Bambarra, you will see small circles carved in many places, they are the night view from Bambarra in paleo-astronomy from 5180-years ago. “When Mene died away from home, his bones were returned and painted red. He was interred on LI. Egyptian text exists on the walls there (reported by National Parks), which write Mene into Star Lore. He became Saturn, red like his bones. In Egypt, Mene is known as, The Scorpion King, because his magi used scorpion poison to bring him back to life (his Ka) and this also was done with Khufu, who was interred there much later, hence she’s known as, The Scorpion King’s Daughter.

“..at Solstice time in late December, you see the last three stars that come over the horizon, as the light steals the night away, are Orion’s belt, the three wise men.”

“The Mother is represented as a virgin, because it is the land and its spirit - you can’t have sex with that, y’know. The Father is the Creator in the sky. Here where a great many of the tribes on the East Coast of Australia come to be initiated, at Solstice time in late December, you see the last three stars that come over the horizon, as the light steals the night away, are Orion’s belt, the three wise men. They arise over Mother to see a King being born. A young man would be taught all of the DTL. He was not ‘born’ until he had this knowledge, as witnessed by these last three stars in the night sky, before the dawn.” Blessing of the Season

Numerology By ShirleySienna

Heralding in December is the sum of the vibration of the frequency of the number 3! December is marked as the 12th month, which signifies both the masculine and feminine and, over December, there will be a lot of busy men and women, for it is the time when Christmas is traditionally celebrated.

The total sum of 12 is 3: you could say mum and dad busy buying presents and filling Christmas stockings - thoughts and worries of what is enough and what is too much, and of course how much can I afford? Three is certainly the number of retail and sales, and also the number of thought and worry; the mental and emotional turmoil of who to buy for and what to buy, so number 3 can signify anguish indeed. It is also the number of letters in the word ‘and’, so maybe be a little mindful this Christmas of using less ‘and’ energy and focus on another three-letter word, ‘You’.

Quote of the Month As this issue is all about animals, we thought we’d offer three quotes from the three famous Dr. Dolittles: “Something smelled wrong. And that’s coming from the guy who loves the smell of butts.” - Jip the dog. & Robert Downey Jnr, 2020 “Shut up. You’re a dog. Dogs cannot talk!” - Dr. Dolittle (Eddie Murphy-1998) “What the hell do you think barking is, an involuntary spasm?” - Lucky the dog
