Thinking Cap Theatre Opens Season with WINK, A Dark Comedy about Love and Power Thinking Cap Theatre (TCT) launches its 2026–2027 season with WINK, a wickedly funny, sharply subversive play that peels back the fragile layers of modern relationships. WINK is written by Jen Silverman, an acclaimed, young playwright, novelist and screenwriter whose recent work The Roommate reached Broadway and starred icons Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone. TCT’s production of WINK debuts Friday, May 15, for a limited run through Tuesday, May 26 at the Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center in downtown Hollywood. In a bold return to its roots, TCT presents this production as an intimate, conceptual experience with only 50 tickets available per performance. Audiences will be seated onstage with the cast and fully immersed in the action. Bizarre, laugh-out-loud funny and quietly disturbing, WINK begins with a seemingly ordinary marriage that quickly spirals into chaos after one very bad decision involving the family cat. What follows is a biting, absurd and surprisingly poignant

exploration of love, control and the instincts we try, and often fail, to contain. The play twists expectations and morality, urging audiences to find their own meaning beneath its dark humor and primal edge. TCT’s Producing Artistic Director Nicole Stodard, Ph.D., directs a dynamic cast including John Baldwin, Bree-Anna Obst, Christopher Ross-Dybash and Sergio Tamayo. WINK is one of those rare plays that is as refreshing and hilarious as it is unsettling, profound, and absolutely worth taking a chance on,” said Stodard. “Jen Silverman’s work is daring, smart and provocative, and aligns perfectly with TCT’s mission to bring bold, thought-provoking theatre to South Florida. Audiences will laugh, but they’ll also find themselves grappling with some complex questions about the human quest for meaning and happiness.” One of the most exciting voices in contemporary theater, Silverman is known for genre-defying plays that challenge audi-

ences and expand the possibilities of theatrical form. TCT previously produced Silverman’s Collective Rage and with WINK continues its commitment to promoting innovative storytelling in South Florida.
