JULY 3 Tri-Town Independence Day Fireworks The Chamber of commerce coordinates the annual Independence Day fireworks display for the three towns it serves. The fireworks are set up at the Spruce Mountain Ski Slope in Jay and are shot over the Androscoggin River. They can be heard and seen from one of several viewing areas around the region. AUGUST 20-22 12th Annual Frantasia Festival of Out Music and Arts The festival showcases innovative, experimental and improvisational performers. Over 40 artists meet to be inspired and share their heart and talent with the public. It’s the largest out music festival in the State of Maine. AUGUST 29-30 Bowman Field Fly-In Come join us for a weekend of family fun! You will find a variety of aircraft, antique engines and cars, a flea market, free camping and lots of airport camaraderie. There will be airplane and helicopter ride. Plenty of fun for the kids as well. A candy drop both afternoons where candy literally falls from the sky! There is a hangar full of games where everyone is a winner. You will also find a bounce house and ice cream. There will be a full service food shack that serves breakfast, lunch, and a spaghetti/ bean supper Saturday night. The Fly-In is a family friendly event that offers an up close and personal airplane experience. Admission is FREE, but donations are welcomed!
