Discussion ! 1. Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.! Romans 3:23-25 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forth as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.!
2. 1 John 3:4 - Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness.! Romans 3:23 - For the wages of sin is death…!
3. Acts 4:12- And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. ! John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.!
4. John 19:30 - When Jesus has received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.! John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.! 1 John 5:11 - And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son does not have life.! _______________________________________________________!
Final Thoughts! The gospel is that we were once imprisoned in our sins. We desire complete independence and so tie ourselves to seemingly rebellious acts, not realizing we are then slaves to those acts. The end result of doing things apart from God is eternity outside of His presence, in hell. God’s love and desire that no men remain separate from Him compelled Him to sacrifice His own Son in our place. Trusting in that and following Jesus’ way liberates us from those chains we have placed on ourselves and releases us to live free of trite concerns.! What is your choice?
