Discussion! 1. What is your favorite breakfast food? Have you ever paid attention to how it makes you feel after you eat it?!
2. How do you start your day normally? Are you an early riser? Sleep late? Do you give yourself time to get ready or do you feel rushed?! 3. How important is it to you to spend time in the morning with Jesus? Is there a difference in your attitude throughout the day when you do as opposed to when you don’t?!
4. How do you feel about the fact that many Christians claim to follow Jesus but don’t spend regular time with him? How can we know where he is leading us without communicating with him? ! _______________________________________________________!
Discussion ! 1. Galatians 6:7 - Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. !
2. Psalm 46:10 - Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!! 3. Daniel 6:10 - When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three
times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.! Matthew 14:23 - And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. when evening came, he was there alone…!
4. John 6:60, 66-69 - When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”! After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. So Jesus asked the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”! _______________________________________________________!
Final Thoughts! Comfort is the enemy. Laziness destroys our witness. Laziness and rest are not the same thing. When we rest, we are rejuvenated and refreshed and ready to reengage. But if we rest up but skip breakfast, we go out unprepared and unfit to face the day. We grow weary and tired. We NEED time with God in the mornings as well as in the evenings. I encourage you to stop letting your time fly by, stop letting your calendar rule you and take control of the days by making time for the things that matter: God, family, exercise, work, rest. Skip the tv and the computer and get outside, but not without a complete breakfast!!
