ABOUT ME

SKILLS

I am an organised, efficient, creative and bold person thriving within a high pressure, deadline driven environment.

AUTOCAD SKETCHUP 3D VRAY RENDERING LUMION RENDERING REVIT PHOTOSHOP INDESIGN ADOBE SKETCH ILLUSTRATOR MODEL MAKING SKETCHING

I am a team worker and someone who is curious to learn and I believe that details are very important. I’ve spent most of my internship focusing on that. My works in college has been all about how I can push myself in terms of form and in the time I’ve interned, Ive learned to think about real life scenarios and how the design will be executed. While I was still interning for the final semester, I started freelancing and took up my first project which was an interior design project for a residence. I learnt lot of thing while I was doing this project and based on the confidence I got from that project, I took up my first residence construction after graduation which just got completed. Even though I learnt a lot with practical application while interning and freelancing, I think I still lack in few skills which is why I decided to persue masters degree.

LOCATION

Plan showing entrance to the site

Sriharikota is a remote island on the coast of Bay of Bengal in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This island has launchpads of ISRO and belongs to the government of India. AREA OF INTERVENTION AND THE BUILDINGS ON IT

existing buildings on the site and area of intervention highlighted

This location was chosen because of the availability of resources, and also the presence of tourist spots around the island acts as a feeder to the scientific attraction being designed inside the island. However, this island is a secured area and permission is required to access the area and it can be obtained by emailing the identification details to the concerned authorities a week in prior.

VISITORS CENTRE ISRO has a museum which already has a footfall of 500-600 students every day. The visitors cenre is an extension to the museum and can be a revenue generating program which lends a helping hand for the functioning of ISRO and spread knowledge about ISROs achievements and future goals. The program involves stationary exhibits ,VR experience hall, tour of the launchpads starting from the very first launch pad that came up in the island which is now considered a heritage site and is located at quite a distance from the 1st and 2nd launchpads and has separate access.

URBAN DESIGN PROJECT PART 1 URBAN INTERVENTION IN CITY CENTRE

• Type: Urban design study • Area: 25 acres • Description: study the area and identify the weak areas and propose possible solutions to the congestion at city centre • Location: K.R Market, Bangalore, Karnataka • Softwares used: autocad sketchup lumion photoshop

PART 1- DOCUMENT AND STUDY THE AREA The area assigned to us was the city centre market. This area is an amalgamation of history with Tippu Sulatan’s summer palace and what remain of the Bangalore fort, there are also the historic churches and mosque which were built around the same time, a school that has been functioning for over 100 years, it has bustling market place, a wide array of wholesale stores and small scale production units, it has religious centres, transport hubs like the KR market bus stand which is one of the busiest bus stops in the city, modern transport like the metro station situated vunderground, and also pockets of residences who have been living in the area since the beginning. We were assigned to study the area and come up with a possible solution to reduce the traffic and optimize the living quality of people there. Identifying problem areas and suggesting possible changes in the zoning that could regulate the congestion seen in the area

HIERARCHY OF SPACES IN AND AROUND KALASIPALYA school hospitals parks religious institutions police station tourists spots eateries public libraries office lodges travel agencies speciality

WHY KALASIPALYA? We were assigned Kalasipalya area for urban study as it is the city center, has the biggest and oldest market. This place has a lot of history and is poorly managed in terms of future expansion, for example the roads were designed in the 1800’s to suit the transport needs of that era and since this place has historic buildings on either side, development is happening but not to the extent at which it is ideal for functioning of this place.

Proposed green spaces

As part of our study, we collected data about traffic patterns, parking areas, foot path locations and identified green spaces and keeping these main problems on hand, we came with solutions that will easen the traffic by providing alternative roads and providing one ways in areas necessary, providing parking spaces to eliminate illegal parking that causes congestion, proposing road widening and suggesting foot paths in areas that require it and finally to tackle lack of green spaces problem, provide pockets of green and try to integrate green spaces wherever possible inside buildings in the area as possible. These are the outcomes of those study. this study is based on the extentions permissible according to BDA landuse plan(shown above)

URBAN DESIGN PROJECT PART 2 URBAN INTERVENTION IN CITY CENTRE

AIM OF THE PROJECT The area chosen is the one above the chickpet metro station. noticing the lack of parking provision in the area and this place being the only open ground, the idea was to create a community space including green areas and give back to the people who lost their shop space in the metro construction.

Noticing the lack of certain spaces, and also considering the fact that this is a place with lots of activity and history around, the proposed space deals with the following issues • before the metro station was made, there were around 200 stalls in that area, they get a space in the proposed plan • addressing the lack of green spaces and a need to provide a proper space for heritage walks and other such activities that take place in the area, the green spaces could be a place where such activites can take place to make sure the space is been utilized in an efficent way • there are few offices reated to BMRCL that afre proposed elsewhere, this place could be for offices as the FAR allows for up to 4 floors • designated parking as there is none in the area

INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT REDESIGN AN EXISTING SALON TO A LUXURY RETAIL STORE.

• • • • •

Type: Interior design project Area: 300 sqm Description: design interior of a retail store Location: Levelle road, Bangalore, Karnataka Softwares used: autocad sketchup photoshop

• BRAND: • TRANSLATION :

LEVENSADEM BREATH OF LIFE

• PRODUCTS SOLD: perfumes and body mists ofvarious luxurious brands and entire section dedicated to custom made perfumery. • LOGO:

The name of the brand is intended to portray an invigorating feeling. Hence the logo had to be on par with the theme. The colour chosen is a lighter shade of purple with an intention to indicate luxury and royalty.

The layout of the store has a mix of clean wooden diase and prestine glass shelves and tpo contrast that is the acid stained concrete table tops and reception desk to add a bit of chaos and colour. Even in the display, to attract customer, the store front has natural elements with creepers dangling from the roof with purple flowers and barrels at the side to add a more intreguing yet sophesticated store front. Lights designed for this store has to be kept miminal with respect to design as therev was so much happening aroun in the store. this is a simple cylinerical lights handing from the false ceiling

STORE LAYOUT Store layout is designed in a way to allow customers to go through the entire store in the order of rarity of the perfume on display. The custom made perfumery has a dedicated corner where the perfumeier sits with the client and samples scents and heeds to their requirements.

ARCHITECTURAL STUDIO 4th sem BRIDGE OF ALLEGORIES

• Type: conceptual eutopian design • Description: brief is to design 11 retreat house for artists • Location: Hogenakkal, Karnataka • Span : 50m • Softwares used: revit photoshop

AIM : The aim of this project is to create a retreat space for writers. The aim of the design process is to use bridge as a metaphor and depict how the same blue waters are percieved by 11 different people with 11 different perspective. This is shown by the tilting of their living units, each unit is tilted by 9 degrees so at the end of the arrangement, the units becomes a proper square. This is connected by a walkway and the wholething is wrapped under a mesh cover sybolising even if the approach is different, in the end the subject matter on which they write or comment on, remains the same.

ARCHITECTURAL STUDIO 2nd sem RESOURCE CENTRE FOR HUTRIDURGA DOCUMENTATION AND DESIGN

PART 1: DOCUMENTATION In this project, as a class, we documented a whole village of Hutridurga and presented on multiple A0 sheets. this sheet is one among the group work which I was part of

multiple views of gateway and the footpath the villagers take to get to the village

• Type: public use building • Area: 200 sqm • Description: the aim of this project was to first document the village and design a • resource centre for the same • Location: Hutridurga, Karnataka

The above sheets are documented and drafted by me. Our assignment was to pick a characteristic that we like in a particular house and document the whole house in from the point of view, the characteristics I chose was the structure of the house.

AIM : Aim of documenting the place was to get to know thw area well and come up with a program that helps the village PROGRAM : There was a need for a community space in the village and since the village gets a lot of attention as its part of a legacy of nine important villages in Karnataka, a resource centre seemed like a proper programme to suggest. The site was chosen keeping in mind not to destroy any existing vegetation and also because it is situated at the entrance of the village.

BRIEF OF THE PROJECT

• Type: hostel inside a college campus • Area: 2000sqm • Description: 15 hostel rooms with 3 sharing units • Location: Kollam, Kerala • Softwares used: autocad sketchup

The core of the project is the open courtyard on the centre around which the rooms are arranged. view from the front of the scaled model of the set SET DESIGN PROJECT This project was done in a group of five as part of set design elective course during 8th sem along with thesis. The assignment for this set design project was to do a scaled model of a palce and add a fictional touch to it. These are a collection of works I did as a hobby which allows me to show you by other skills and interests.

Our group chose a train station with people waiting, but the challenge was to show the audience the set in perspective, since we dint have enough space we chose to creatre the illusion of depth by creating a smaller background and alligning the tracks and other elements to it.
