TO REACH FOR THE SKY Our raw chocolate concept was born of a desire to get to the core. Using raw materials that are 100% organic is to us of paramount importance for the quality of the finished product. Our meticulously selected beans highlight the respect we feel for their noble characteristics. Roasting cocoa beans and processing them to produce finished raw chocolate is a unique craft. Many prerequisites have to be met. To put it simply, the diligent cabinetmaker does not just go to the lumber yard to get oak for a unique Finn Juhl chair. Making good chocolate is a very long and complicated process. It is unbelievably demanding. Mikael Grønlykke Founder


SUMMERBIRD RAW CHOCOLATE BARS The idea for our selection of organic bars was born of a desire to extract the very nature of chocolate and delve into crafts and traditions. We want to create a room and literally fill it with contemplation and joy. Using raw materials that are 100% organic is of paramount importance for the finished product. Grounding the beans patiently with a stone roller shows our respect for their noble characteristics. Everything is hand-made, which gives us the opportunity to pick and choose, sniff, crunch and let our imagination run wild. The real chocolate has pulse and sharpens the senses.

SUMMERBIRD ALMONDS

Sugar-coated almonds and hazelnuts are part of Summerbird’s identity. We carefully select almonds and hazelnuts of the best possible quality. The almonds come from Spain and the hazelnuts from Italy. The organic almonds and hazelnuts have been lightly roasted to add crispiness and edge. They are coated with a thin layer of praline, dark, milk, or white chocolate, and are finally covered with sun-ripened fruit, liquorice, or cocoa granulate.

ICONIC BUTTERFLIES In 1986, Mikael Grønlykke took on the chocolate challenge and, in the backroom of his parents’ dairy in Southern Funen, he created the first marzipan butterfly. Hence the name Summerbird. The formula was simple: uncompromising attitude, quality, dedication and craftsmanship! Thus, the foundation of Summerbird was laid. Summerbird chocolate quickly became popular for its good taste and attention to detail, whether it was chocolate or wrapping.

The Sparkling Summerbird is made from carefully selected ingredients, and only the best manufacturers and raw materials are applied. Everything is handmade. This way, we are able to guarantee our high quality manufacturing processes. The essence of each selected tea has been extracted at carefully controlled temperatures to produce a pure, soft, and exquisite taste. We add fresh herbs, lemon, and white wine. We only apply natural ingredients, and we do neither use aroma enhancers nor colorants. Sparkling Summerbird is perfect for brunch, aperitif, dessert, and chocolate. Best enjoyed at a temperature of 5 degrees Celcius and in good company!

We do not use gluten-containing ingredients in our production in Assens. The milk powder that is used to manufacture the chocolates contains lactose. The rice syrup used to manufacture the cream puffs is made of rice flour. Allergens are highlighted in bold in all lists of ingredients on the packaging.
