A box of Heart Parts contains 10 Heart Parts. Thats 20 forks, 20 knives and 20 scoops. One Heart Part breaks apart into two forks, two knives and two scoops. The Heart Part uses 66% less plastic than a regular plastic cutlery kit. Which means we contribute 66% less landfill waste. Heart Parts are 100% biodegradable AND 200% reusable (We not only care about what you put into your body, but we also care about what we put into our planet!) When Heart Parts eventually biodegrade, they don't leave any fragments or harmful residues, they do not give off methane and they can be incinerated commercially. Heart Parts are dishwasher friendly, and are also recyclable. Heart Parts are designed to put the love back into the food we eat. The concept invites people to get more intimate with their food, as they share food with the people they love.

As you are eating with one part of the Heart Part, you are in essence feeding someone on the other side of the world with the other part. Made with a lot of LOVE. in a family run factory in India. Plastic cutlery contributed to the Landfills in the BILLIONS last year. Figures cite USA disposing of 40 Billion forks; China : 35 Billion forks; Japan : 24 Billion forks. (with a growth rate of 20-30%). Every time you REUSE a Heart Part, you save 2 forks, 2 knives and 2 scoops. Heart Parts are available in custom colors.

Creator & Founder :

FATIMA FAZAL A little about Fatima... What does Fatima Heart? : “iHeart tight hugs. and open minds. iHeart biking past people trying to hail a taxi and hi-fiving them instead. iHeart hot sauce. and iced coffee. iHeart looking out of the window from a plane. Looking down and feeling high. Looking up and feeling tiny. And iHeart picture messages. especially heart shaped ones.

Fatima on the Hearts... “Growing up, the dining table was where I would share food, conversation, and the end of my day with my family. Being from Indian ancestry, every time we ate indian food, we would tear up a chapatti and eat with our hands. There is something invisibly visible about the taste of food when it goes from your hand to your mouth. Its like tasting the kiss in a loaf of bread. But when you are living in a really expensive shoebox in Manhattan, where the dining table becomes the couch, and the kitchen becomes delivery, who’s got time to bake bread? I wanted to bring the union and romance of a dining table and silverware, to the order of phad thai I was eating from my sofa. Where did all the love go? And then someone iHeart bit me with the love bug. “I SEE HEARTS EVERYWHERE!” They were in the shadows, in a bag of chips, in the gum on the sidewalks. Abstract and surprising. So she started to document them, and every time I would see one, I would take a picture of it and send it to her and to someone IHEART. The moment I started sending hearts to people, I started receiving them tenfold. I would wake up to picture messages from friends of upside down bike seats and heart shaped puddles. It was beautifully cyclical and incredibly contagious. So contagious, I wanted to spread it. I thought about whether it was possible to spread the love, from the things we see, to things we think and say, and somehow inject it into the food we eat.”

Fatima on the Hope... “So, before you ‘Open’ your Heart Part, i hope you think about something you love. Maybe its the perfect pairing of steak and Jazz. Maybe its your dads spaghetti bolognese. Everything just tastes sweeter when you think about what you love before you eat, because now you are eating with gratitude. And I hope you think about how good looking the Heart Parts are before you throw them away into the sea of 40 billion other plastic forks that contributed to the landfills in the US last year. They have been made with so much love, that i hope you will love them too much to throw them away. First you’ll think about hand/dish washing them, next you’ll think about whether it will fit in your wallet. I thought about that too and designed them dishwasher friendly and small enough to fit in your pocket. Do both for as long as you can, and when you’re ready to throw them away, know that not only are they made with 66% less plastic than regular cutlery, but they are also 100% biodegradable. I hope you enjoy disposing of them guilt free. And when you break the whole heart into parts, I hope you know you are in part sharing your meal with someone in the world who really needs one. With my ‘Have a Heart’ program, i am committed to contributing a % of my profits towards causes that are close to your hearts. I HOPE YOU ENJOY EATING WITH THEM.”
