Reports WW1 Battlefields Thanks SAM
I am sure others will write a detailed description of our recent trip to visit the WW1 Battlefields, together with appropriate photos, but I would just like to write a little myself: first of all, a huge thank you to both Susan Smith, for doing such a grand organising job of finding beds for us all, sorting out menus, dealing with last minute changes etc, and Rob Day, for preparing a really interesting itinerary, sharing his knowledge and being general tour master. It was thanks to their hard work that these few days were so enjoyable. I had dipped a biking toe onto French soil last summer when Roy and I did a brief tour of the WW1 Battlefields. Due to an injury, I was pillion at the time - as some who know me, a very rare occurrence - so I hadnâ€™t known what to expect in terms of actually riding at any length in France (my experiences of riding The SAM Observer October 2010
