the main points. I found this demo extremely useful as a guide for what to look for when buying an older bike where there may be excessive wear in the steering head, wheel bearings or swinging arm assemblies. Tips that could save you buying a real dog, or at least giving room for negotiation! The three learning points for the evening for me; by all means change brake pads but don’t mess with the caliper, don’t trust trickle chargers in the winter, they can do your battery more harm than good; and you really can obtain a ‘daytime only’ MOT for a bike that you might want to use to ride to trackdays or off-road areas (in daylight!!).. honest! All in all, a very interesting evening that started at 7.30 and went on to 10pm and I think Chris could have gone on. A big thank you to Paul for setting the evening up and a bigger thank you to Chris and Barry for taking so much time at the end of a busy day to share some tips with us. Bob Page
