them, Robert still showing some concern about their venture into what for them was the unknown. Privately Maureen and I discussed inviting them to join us for our first night in Spain. We would then part company as our plans were to head for Granada to visit the Alhambra Palace. When we suggested this Robert thought it a great idea. Neither of us had prebooked any accommodation.
The only plan was to head south towards the lovely old walled town of El Burgo de Osma and look for accommodation for 2 nights, which would give us a day to visit the Canyen Del Rio Lobos, a natural home for the larger birds of prey. Fine by us they said.

After our two days together a friendship was made and their first venture abroad by bike took them right across Spain to the Alhambra Palace and back to Bilbao, experiencing the real Spain, staying in hostals, paradors, monasteries and hotels. But only because they initially took â€œThe Bull by the Hornsâ€?.
