CAGAYAN de Oro City -- The Bureau of Customs here is willing to donate a 40-footer van filled with “used clothing” to the fire victims of Opol in Misamis Oriental, a customs official said Wednesday. Joseph Roswald Page, legal division here, said that head of the customs district all it needs is a resolution
from the municipal town of Opol before the bureau could possible release the seized “used clothing.” He said the resolution should be addressed to the Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs in Manila. Page said that the lo-
cal Bureau of Customs would favorably endorse the resolution so that one of the seized container vans of “used clothing” could be distributed to the fire victims. The Bureau of Customs here seized an illegal shipment of 21 units of
40-footer container vans filled with “used clothing” valued at Php 52 million in July this year. Page said the local Bureau of Customs offered the seized “used clothing” in response to a call by the provincial government of Misamis Oriental and the
municipal town of Opol for “used clothing” for the town’s fire victims. A fire of unknown origin razed 153 houses in Luyong Bonbon, a fishing village, in the coastal town of Opol Tuesday evening leaving about 360 people homeless.

CAGAYAN de Oro City -- Provincial Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano of Misamis Oriental has mobilized key officials in the province to ensure that the delivery of the assistance to about 360 fire victims in Opol continues 24/7. A fire of unknown origin gobbled up a fishing village of 153 houses in Luyong Bonbon, Opol, Misamis Oriental Tuesday evening leaving about 360 individuals homeless.
Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano said Wednesday that the heads of the Provincial Social Welfare Development (PSWD), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council, and the Provincial Health Office (PHO) have a marching order to provide relief and assistance to the fire victims starting Tuesday night. He said that the initial relief consists of used clothing, food packs, kitchen Congressman Rufus B.
