To provide creative workshops through artThis project involves two different programmes in the same organization • a kindergarten that has activities for children between 2-5 years and an afterschool programme for children between 6-13 years. It involves creative activities, support in their homework, sports, etc. • a project to promote art and cinema lessons with young people focus on developing skills related to create short films and other artistic productions. This project is located in Avellaneda, minutes away from the city centre. It is a port city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the seat of the Avellaneda Partido, whose population is 328,980. Avellaneda is part of the metropolitan area of Greater Buenos Aires, and is connected to Buenos Aires City by several bridges over the Riachuelo River. A major rail center, Avellaneda is also one of the foremost commercial and industrial centers of Argentina. Villa Dominico is a neighborhood located in Avellaneda. Young people who don´t have an adequate space permitting them to develop communication, social, cultural skills, participate in leisure activities in a program designed to encourage them to learn and discover new things Children come from different backgrounds with vulnerable situations. Volunteer´s tasks

Volunteers will organize leisure activities for children related to art and sport. They will be placed in workshops with a specific duration depending on each individual volunteer’s stay. Besides they can assist teachers during the lessons. Volunteers will organize art workshops twice a week: cinema, theatre, literature or any art workshop with teenagers. Volunteers can see the description of the project with this link: http://prezi.com/pbtkayujepht/edit/#60 In addition, they will also organize activities for youth exchange alongside the other volunteers, such as festivals or cinema nights. Since the programme includes the animation of afterschool activities there is also the possibility to carry out activities during the weekend. Volunteers will have weekly meetings to discuss various topics in order to understand and complement their social intervention as volunteers. Besides, we aim to provide them with a complete social, historical, political and economic background. There will be solidarity activities planned for all the volunteers to have common inter-exchanges, like festivals, workshops in schools, etc.

NGO Management Buenos Aires, Argentina Argentina Education, NGO, volunteer service, social work SES Foundation through the Subir al Sur program aims to promote volunteering as a non formal, intercultural education. It also encourages education for peace by facilitating the meeting of people of different regions across the world for solidarity purposes. We organize mid-long term and short term volunteer opportunities, intercultural workshops and activities with volunteers. The SES foundation works in three main areas: education, work and participation focused in youth. La sartén por el mango Monte Chingolo, Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, Argentina Argentina Food, recreation, art The focus is on the communities of South America where for environmental, social and governmental reasons, citizens struggle to rise above social inequity. The purpose is to help those who constantly battle with the day-to-day socioeconomic challenges. Therefore, the aims of the project are to create sustainable social change through building relationships and implementing strategic systems and structures, to provide a platform for transition from subsistence to maintaining a good quality of life for each individual, to actively support current generations in creating healthy and livable communities and plan for future generations to follow in their footsteps. The project provides of food every day to children and young people in a slum of Avellaneda. It organizes art and cultural workshops. 1/3 of the children below the age of 17 living in Buenos Aires live below the poverty line. This statistic is determined without taking into consideration additional factors like access to education, health care, a safe environment, adequate housing, rights, opportunities, or social security. Additionally they will assist workshops and organize cultural, artistic and nutritional workshops for children who will attend daily in order to share meals with them aiming to raise the awareness of the population on the importance of maintaining a healthy nutrition.

This is organized through educational activities, games, and sport activities. To Provide medical assistant to children and families. 1/3 of the children below the age of 17 living in Buenos Aires live below the poverty line. This statistic is determined without taking into consideration additional factors like access to education, health care, a safe environment, adequate housing, rights, opportunities, or social security. A city for everyone II Buenos Aires, Argentina Argentina Education, recreation, art, culture Supporting youth development and cooperating with young people aiding them in their effort to complete their secondary education. In addition, the projects aim to provide professional support in social, psychological and educative inclusion. “Uniendo Caminos” is a social organization that works three times a week providing support towards social inclusion in the education system. Each project is located in a different slum of Buenos Aires. The living situation of each youngster varies depending on the location of the different communities so volunteers must be aware of the complexity of the social situation. • Intermediate Spanish level • Initiative to propose independent activities • Interest in learning about NGOs and social programs in Argentina • Sensitivity to social and economic problems • Flexibility to adapt to the NGO structure and way of working in South America • Teamwork • Creative character and motivation • Interest in youth development Volunteers will work supporting youth with their afterschool homework. They will work with a group of volunteer teachers helping them with classes such as languages, social science, math, biology, literature, etc. They will work in two different neighbors with the same project. Volunteers will have weekly meetings to discuss various topics in order to understand and complement their social intervention as volunteers. Besides, we aim to provide them with a complete social, historical, political and economic background. Hockey with young women Lomas de Zamora, Quilmes, Lanús, , Buenos Aires, Argentina Argentina Sport and Education Supporting youth development and cooperating with young people aiding them in their effort to complete their secondary education. This project organizes hockey lessons and workshop once a week to talk about young situation, conflict resolution, etc. There are 11 sport centres in the south of Buenos Aires. Each project is located in a different slum of Buenos Aires. The living situation of each youngster varies depending on the location of the different communities so volunteers must be aware of the complexity of the social situation.
