“They say dreams are the windows of the soul; take a peek and you can see the inner workings, the nuts and bolts.” - Henry Bromel

Dear Dream Zone,

I dreamed I was in the house that I grew up in. I cleaned my brother’s room which was full of my dirty clothes. When I went to clean my room, I was too tired to finish. – Carrie 36, Wisconsin Rapids, WI Lauri: Are there issues between you and your brother that stem from childhood? It seems you are trying to clean up a mess between the two of you or straighten out some issue. But it’s YOUR dirty clothes in his room. Dirt in a dream symbolizes negativity that is dirtying up an otherwise clear psyche. Perhaps it is your negativity regarding your brother that you need to cleanse yourself of. Your dream seems to be telling you that the negativity is exhausting you; you are wasting your energy on it. Carrie replies: I don’t have a relationship with him at all. He blames me for putting our mom in a “home,” although it is really her own apartment but for older people. But the funny thing is, he won’t have anything to do with her. He does have issues with me about childhood. I told a girlfriend of his that he hits females, when I was like 14 (because he used to beat the crap out of me) and because of this he won’t let me be friends with his current wife. I have thought about confronting him regarding the way he treats our mom, but I really don’t think it would do any good, and may just cause more issues. I have been talking to my boyfriend about this situation. He has pretty much told me the same thing. “Why waste your time on him? He will just use the argument for another excuse.”

Tune in to Lite 98 with Chris and Kris on Monday mornings at 7:00 to hear Lauri unlock listeners’ dreams.
