Dell Rapids Public Schools—Grades 5-12 Vocal Music
Responsible for providing a quality and rewarding musical experience for a program encompassing more than 350 students. Courses taught include fifth and sixth grade general music, seventh and eighth grade music appreciation, seventh and eighth grade combined chorus, high school concert choir, high school vocal ensembles, and private voice lessons. Responsible for planning and presenting two middle school concerts and one ensemble contest per year and three high school concerts, one large group contest, various solo and ensemble contests per year, and performances at other school functions. Chaperoned and coordinated two ensemble trips. Additional assignments included co-directing the high school musical, accompanying middle school instrumental contest, teaching fifth and sixth grade literature circles, and co-supervising fifth grade homeroom. Professional leadership included founding committee member of the Anti-Bullying Coalition (A.B.C.), reading committee for North Central Accreditation (N.C.A.), and DR Music Boosters.
