Highlights of First Quarter Expansion & Development The Knuckle Brewing Company Construc on is underway on the 1,400 square foot addi on to the current Knuckle Saloon. The space, formally home to the Nite Owl Bar, will brew up to 1,800 gal‐ lons a month while oﬀering indoor/outdoor sea ng with large glass doors opening onto Sturgis’ 2nd Street. The menu at the new loca on will have a separate menu from the current restaurant/saloon. You can get your first growler of the Knuckle brew late this Spring.
Atlas Member Updates Flex Fitness & Tanning Club is open in their new loca on at 2885 Vanocker Road (Exit 32). Sco Peterson Motors has begun demoli on on the concrete block build‐ ing which housed their sales and service oﬃces. Construc on plans are expected to be released soon. Construc on con nues on Campbell Supply. The new, larger building is located where the old structure stood. Depending on weather, it will tenta vely reopen in March. The bid to repair Sturgis Williams Middle School was recently awarded to Iverson Construc on of Sturgis. Work will begin soon. Construction is progressing on Campbell Supply.
The Easyriders Saloon Dinner Theater Movies are coming back to Sturgis. The theater in Easyriders Saloon will feature a 20 foot screen and 7.1 Dolby surround sound. Comfortable new sea ng will include limited leather Lazy‐Boy style theater chairs. Enjoy a full meal while you watch or a more tradi onal experience with popcorn and candy. Movies will run Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday ma nees with kid movie specials on Sunday. Movie price will be deducted from your bill if you are ea ng and drinking. Opening March 2014.
Sturgis Businesses Honored Rockingtree Floral named South Dakota Retailer of the Year
- Gary Matthews & SD Retailers Association Carol and Randy Hallock of Rockingtree Floral and Garden Center in Sturgis have been awarded the South Dakota Retailers of the Year for 2014. The couple were honored at the annu‐ al awards banquet, held January 13, in Pierre.

The Hallocks employ nearly three dozen people during their peak season, and keep most of them employed throughout the year. The Retailer of the Year Award has been presented annually since 1982 by the SD Retailers Associa on.
They were chosen for the award by a commi ee of retailers in recogni on of outstanding community service and their willingness to go the extra mile for their customers. Randy started a landscaping business in Sturgis in 1976. In 1993, he and Carol purchased a lot on Lazelle Street, which became their permanent loca‐ on. Since then, the business has grown tremendously, now serving customers in a five‐state area. They operate a flower and gi shop and garden center. Their services include landscaping projects ranging from small residen al projects to large

The South Dakota Retailers Associa‐ on is a 3,750‐member statewide business organiza on which represents retailers in the legisla ve and regulatory process; provides informa on to businesses; and oﬀers money‐saving member services such as credit card processing, group health insurance, and workers comp insur‐ ance. SDRA was organized in 1897, and is one of the five largest state retail associa ons in the na on.
Sturgis’ Corbon Ammo Named Shot Show Business of the Year Last month, Corbon Ammo was award‐ ed the SHOT Show Business of the Year at the 2014 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The award is given for innova‐ on in the ammuni on industry and support of the shoo ng sports and educa on.

The SHOT Show features more than 1,600 exhibitors covering 630,000 net square feet making it the largest trade show of its kind in the world. It hosts more than 62,000 shoo ng, hun ng, and outdoor industry professionals from all 50 states and 100 countries. Addi onally, the show oﬀers law enforce‐ ment and armed forces sec ons. Sturgis, with the largest cluster of firearms related industries in the state of South Dakota, has maintained a presence at the show for 15 years.
