LIVINGABROAD Time abroad facilitates personal reflection and teaches you as much about yourself as it does about your host culture. Students often return from studying abroad with an expanded knowledge that helps them to be more effective and innovative in their working lives and more satisfied on a personal level. Learning to live in a new environment is an important part of the study abroad experience. We recognize the importance of safe and comfortable living spaces that help you make new friends and build community. That’s why we offer housing that is integrated into local communities and neighborhoods. This grants you exposure to everyday life in that city: shopping at local markets, enjoying a morning coffee at the neighborhood cafe, and establishing relationships with other locals outside of the academic experience. Over our more than 25 years of operation, we have earned an excellent reputation for providing student housing in high quality apartments, as well as family homestays in most locations.

Student Shared Apartments SAI student apartments are convenient and comfortable, with shared and private occupancy bedrooms available. Each SAI apartment is unique in size, age, floor plan, and number of bedrooms. All apartments are well equipped with basic furnishings, a kitchen, living area and bathroom, as well as wifi. Apartments help students connect and build community with one another, and offer the opportunity to make home cooked meals with friends. Family Homestays Family homestays are available in most locations and are a terrific way to ensure that your language skills and cultural knowledge grow. Homestay families are thoroughly screened and are accustomed to welcoming visiting students into their homes. Homestays provide a shared or private bedroom in the family home with basic furnishings. Included family meals vary by city.

VIVAEXPERIENCE We offer all students enrolled in 360º Services programs the Viva Experience: frequent cultural activities, at no extra cost, for you to get to know your community, city and country. Our activities encourage social interaction between students while including elements designed to foster greater cross-cultural competency and a deeper understanding of the local society. Following are some examples of activities and excursions we offer. From Earth to Table: Tuscan Food and Culture Get a first-hand look at organic agriculture in Italy with a tour of an organic farm. You’ll explore the grounds, vineyard and wine cellars, and get to know the animals. At the end of the tour, you will join the farmers to enjoy a rustic lunch prepared with the farm’s products. Visit to Carrara and Lucca Tour Italy’s famous quarries of Carrara, where marble has been extracted since Roman times, including the blocks used by Michelangelo himself to create his David masterpiece. You’ll experience the breathtaking views of the sparkling Mediterranean visible from the Carrara Mountains as we descend to the town of Lucca. Famous for its 16th century perfectly preserved city walls, Lucca is a wonderful place to take a leisurely afternoon stroll or bike ride.

A Trip Up Montserrat’s Rock Formations Ride the cable train up Spain’s Montserrat, a spectacular mountain made of unusual rock formations that has become a Catalonian icon. You will visit the Benedictine mountain retreat at the top, wander the mountain paths, and take in the breathtaking views of the Catalonian countryside. Day Trip to Idyllic Giverny Take a trip to see the place that inspired many Impressionist painters, primarily Claude Monet. The French village of Giverny presents a beautiful getaway where you’ll be able to explore the gardens that inspired many of Monet’s most celebrated works, including his water lily series. You’ll have a chance to take in the serene views and learn about the artist at the museum dedicated to preserving the 43 years he spent there. Assisi Day Trip and Perugina Chocolate Workshop Spend an unforgettable day in Italy’s verdant region of Umbria to visit the beautiful medieval town of Assisi – the hometown of Saint Francis, Patron Saint of Italy and the current Pope’s namesake. You’ll have the chance to explore the hillside town, filled with sacred relics, remarkable churches, and beautiful frescoes. After a delicious lunch, the group will visit the famous Perugina chocolate factory and participate in a chocolate-making workshop - yum!
