Throughout the year, students have the option of choosing 4 or 8 week programs in Italian Language. ITALIAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM, 4 CREDITS:
Academic Programs Italiaidea uses an interactive communicative approach, with “authentic” materials. This means lessons are focused on Italian daily life, (newspapers, music, advertising, current events), continuing to update materials to make the program relevant and contemporary. Italiaidea offers eight levels of Italian Language study; two elementary levels, two intermediate levels, two advanced levels and two perfection levels. Upon arrival each student is tested to establish his/her language level and is precisely placed to reflect his/her current skills. Each class has a maximum of 10 students.
ITALIAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM, 8 CREDITS: 15 hours per week of Italian language instruction, for 8 weeks. Classes are a maximum of 10 students divided according to level. Students will complete 2 language courses/levels.

Semester programs
Volunteering
Students have the option of enrolling in 12 or 15 Credit Semester Programs. Students may elect to take only Italian Language at Italiaidea or may choose to take Italian Language at Italiaidea in addition to one or two elective courses at John Cabot University (JCU) in Rome.
SAI offers students the opportunity to join the local Roman community through a socially relevant volunteer experience. Opportunities include Caritas Soup Kitchen, and Caritas Hostel for homeless men. Please see our website for details on volunteer opportunities through SAI.
