Event Overview Businesses both large and small face similar challenges in today’s challenging market. The question becomes, “How do I grow and exceed customer expectations, but do it all with less?” On Monday, August 15, 2011, individuals looking to take charge of their business future are invited to the Hilton Ocala for the first annual Connect B2B Expo. An increasing demand for a true business-to-business expo where businesses could gain valuable insight from business executives promoted a group of business owners to take action and put together Ocala’s first allencompassing business-to-business event, and the Connect B2B Expo was born. We chose this name because in today’s highly competitive marketplace, nothing is more important than getting out there and connecting...with customers, with other businesses and with people who can help you be more successful in one way or another. Expo attendees will get a chance to attend our informative Speaker Series presented by business experts from a variety of fields from Public Relations and Media Strategy to Business Strategy and Social Media. Over 50 exhibitors on the Expo Floor will give attendees an opportunity to form new alliances, and Ask-The-Expert sessions, sponsored by Think Technologies Group, will allow attendees to receive one-on-one advice from industry experts. A Poolside Networking Mixer, sponsored by Ocala Hilton, will conclude the event giving everyone a chance to mix and mingle.

Meet the Speakers Media Strategy Steve Triplett President & Director of Client Strategy Contact Media Steve Triplett is the president and founder of Contact Media, a marketing and customer lead generation firm based in Tampa, FL. Steve spent the first decade of his career developing and executing broadcast advertising campaigns as an account executive for various media companies including Clear Channel and Cox Broadcasting. In 2006 Steve started Contact Media to provide media planning and placement services to a handful of local and regional clients. Over the past 5 years Contact Media has placed over $10MM in advertising media including online, television, cable, radio, outdoor, and print in major markets across the Southeastern U.S. Steve has worked with hundreds of businesses and brands ranging from small local businesses to some of the worlds largest and most sophisticated marketing organizations including Proctor & Gamble, Kimberly Clark and Unilever. His real passion however is helping small and medium-sized businesses use thought leadership, social media, and direct response marketing principles to create predictable and sustainable growth.

Chamber 101 Jillienne Allgäuer VP of Membership Development Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce Jillienne Allgäuer, SPHR, currently serves as the Vice President of Membership Development for the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce. Jillienne’s enthusiasm for creating an engaging and relevant Chamber Membership experience— and commitment to staying ahead of the curve by paying careful attention to trending within her field— is her signature. After nearly 8 years with Paychex in Human Resources Consulting and Sales, she finds that her positive and encouraging approach to relationship building made for a natural transition into the Chamber world in early 2009. She is a Chair of the Membership Council of the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals, and volunteers as a Board Member for the PACE Center for Girls and for Junior Achievement. Jillienne is also actively involved with the Ocala Human Resources Management Association and the Society for Human Resource Management. Originally from Elmira, NY, Jillienne received her Bachelor’s Degree with honors from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a Major in Business Administration and a Minor in Studio Art.

Kevin Christian is originally from Columbus, Ohio, but grew up and graduated from high school in southern West Virginia, and earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Lee University.

Katie Humphrey helps busy professionals defy the status quo and live a rich, rewarding life. With a strong emphasis on wellness and personal development, she coaches clients around the world to create more passion, motivation and energy in their everyday lives.

After first working in Ocala at the Paddock Mall, Kevin worked as a full-time musician at Calvary Assembly and Walt Disney World in Orlando. In 1995, he moved to Miami to earn his Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Miami. Kevin moved back to Ocala as a news anchor and reporter for WCJB TV20 in 1996. During his time at TV20, he served as interim news operations manager and was honored by the Associated Press with two first-place awards for his work. Kevin is now the Public Relations Officer and Coordinator of Television Media Productions for Marion County Public Schools, where he’s been honored more than 40 times for his work by local, state and national public relations groups. Kevin serves as the minister of music at his church, is a writer for Ocala Style magazine, and has five recorded CD projects to his credit.

As a keynote speaker, empowerment coach, author and spokesperson, Katie inspires others to adopt a mindset for success. Her dynamic Revolution of YOU brand helps overwhelmed and stressed out individuals confidently reach their goals. Katie has been interviewed on countless radio stations and has been featured in Shape.com, The Couch Potato Diet and is a featured expert on ChickRx. With a passion for helping others, Katie serves as the VP of Marketing for the North Marion Relay for Life and the VP of Public Relations for the Ocala Toastmasters speaking group. Katie holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Stetson University and is president of JK Humphrey International. She resides in Ocala, Florida with her husband.

Melissa Valenti is a presenter, writer, trainer and advisor with over 15 years experience in corporate settings including Wachovia Bank, the City of Boca Raton and Brinker International. She has developed and delivered programs on a broad number of subjects ranging from masters level science research to retail employee development.

Dave Fechtman has over 15 years of business experience, specializing in sales management and leadership development. Prior to founding Root Theory, he was the Sales Director for Fidelity Bank in North Carolina, where he led the sales efforts for their 67 branch franchise. He also served as Market President for Wachovia Bank in Statesville, NC and Ocala, Florida.

Melissa has a passion for innovation and creativity which led her to establish Root Theory in 2009, with her partners. Root Theory is an advisory firm that recognizes the need to help businesses and individuals become relevant in their industries and the communities that they serve. The firm focuses on four core competencies including relevancy, business essentials, leadership development, and sales and marketing excellence.

During his career, Dave was credited with turning around struggling markets and capturing market share. As a result he was selected to share his concepts on a nationwide platform. He has developed customized training materials and facilitated numerous workshops and planning sessions. Dave understands the impact relevancy can have on one’s life, and is committed to helping professionals strengthen their relevancy factor.

Melissa and her husband Chris live in Ocala with their son, her father, four dogs and a really good vacuum cleaner. Melissa is active in the community she serves by volunteering with various organizations including the Children’s Home Society, Women’s Auxiliary, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and as a board member for Angels in Arms.

Dave is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and is involved with many philanthropic organizations, including the United Way where he was the 2009 Campaign Chair. He also sits on many boards, such as the Marion Co YMCA, Hale Academy, Marion County EDC and is the 2011 Chairman of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce.
