LARIMORE NATIVE PRODUCES AWARD-WINNING TELEVISION SHOW Nesdahl brings production and reporting skills to Studio One GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Larimore, N.D. native Kaylee Nesdahl, is an intern at Studio One, an award-winning television show produced at the University of North Dakota. This is Nesdahl’s fourth semester with the program. In previous semesters she has worked as an associate producer, floor manager, teleprompter operator and feature reporter. She is currently the producer for the show and a feature reporter. As producer, Nesdahl delegates story assignments and leads the feature reporting team. As a reporter, she conducts interviews, develops stories and edits video. “I love Studio One because it allows me to hone in on my writing skills, whether I’m working on scripts, teases, or guest memos,” says Nesdahl. Nesdahl has received two Studio One Recognition of Excellence awards for her creative contributions to the program. She is also on the Dean’s List, the Presidents Honor Roll and has received the UND Presidential Scholarship. Nesdahl is the daughter of Bert and Carol Nesdahl of Larimore, N.D. She graduated from Larimore High School in 2006 and is currently an English and Communications major at UND. After she graduates this spring, Nesdahl would like to work in the television industry and write for news or entertainment programming. She says her internship at Studio One has helped prepare her for the future. “I’ve learned to understand and work with a variety of people, both in the program and in the community! My communication skills have progressed to a level which will be valuable in any job,” she explains. Studio One is an award-winning news and information program produced at the University of North Dakota Television Center. The program airs live on UND Channel 3 on Thursdays at 5 p.m. Re-broadcasts can be seen at 7 a.m., noon, 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. daily and on Saturdays at 10 a.m. Prairie Public Television airs Studio One on Saturday at 6 a.m. The program can also be seen by viewers in Fargo, Bismarck/Mandan and Minot, N.D.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Denver, Colo.; and Winnipeg, Manitoba. -30-
