STUDIO LEZMI shows photo-studios I found on my travel trough Turkey, Syria and Lebanon in October-November 2007. Every time I saw a studio I went in and asked for a portrait. The photographer was free to do whatever he wanted. After the session I usually outed myself as a photographer and asked him to pose for me in his studio and then I took some pictures of his studio or shop window. The more I got into it, the more I realized that the documentation of these studios was something very crucial. With the new vogue of modern digital cameras and therefore less clients these studios will soon have to close down their long run family business. Just as they did a couple of years ago in European cities. In a few years these studios and their photographers will disappear.
