With Much Gratitude

Cheryl Lagay & Kristin McConkey to the 2014 Spring Gala & Auction Co-Chairs

“People will do great things if they are stirred with enthusiasm and love.” —Janet Erskine Stuart RSCJ Thank you so much for your “Hearts of Gold” and for sharing your love for Stuart through your extraordinary committment and dedication to the Spring Gala & Auction in our special 50th Anniversary year. With love and gratitude, Patty On behalf of the entire Stuart community

Dear Stuart Family, What a magnificent 50th year this has been! From the Kick-Off Celebration to tonight’s Spring Gala & Auction, it has been a year of rememberance and making new memories. We honor the amazing women who brought Sacred Heart education to Princeton - Peggy McNeil, Mary Murray Garrett, and Millie Harford. Their vision of a school in the woods that would transform the lives of preschool boys and young girls from preschool through twelfth grade has long been realized. Over the years, many religious of the Sacred Heart, faculty, students, alumnae, parents, and board members have crossed our threshold into Labatut’s masterpiece and made Stuart their home. I am grateful for the “Hearts of Gold” who have given so much to Stuart throughout these many years. Thank you to our founders, faculty, families, friends and benefactors. Thank you to the amazing young women of Stuart, past and present—the difference makers, who continue to hold our school dear. Thank you for looking back with us in joy and forward with us in grand anticipation to another astounding 50 years! Much love,

Patty L. Fagin, PhD Head of School

Fund-a-Need The Fund-a-Need program raises money for an item or service that benefits all grades and typically would not be possible, or happen as quickly, without philanthropic support. Stuart Girls Ring the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell! Help Stuart students better understand the business of their world and give them a unique advantage by supporting the new Institute for Finance and Economics. Through innovative classroom instruction, lessons with advisory groups, student clubs and afterschool activities, our students will engage in a groundbreaking, comprehensive program to develop financial literacy. They will explore topics such as budgeting and spending, interest and savings, credit and debt resources, stocks, investments, derivatives and bonds, and philanthropic values. Through opportunities such as the Young Entrepreneurs Club and The Stock Market Game they will immerse themselves in the business behind product development or inner workings of the financial markets. They will gain an appreciation of micro and macro-economic concepts through new course offerings. Taking advantage of nearby, real-world resources, students will learn from expert mentors and guest lecturers. From the youngest, who might visit local financial institutions, review class fundraising financial statements and engage in the study of microfinance to the Middle and Upper School students who might invest in stock portfolios to understand diversification of investment risk, take an excursion to Wall Street or the Federal Reserve Bank, Stuart’s students will be primed to think, lead and change the business of their world.
