High tensile tie-rod systems
Architectural Tensile Tie-Rod Assembly Installation Procedure. SRS Architectural Tie-Rod Systems Proper installation is crucial to a Tensile rod performance. Please refer to page 11 for Tension / speed & thread engagement information, page 13 for installation alignment procedure, page 14 for Thread angle and direction, page 19 for preparation, maintenance and checkup notes, as well as general procedure recommended in this page.
STEP 1 Align proper thread direction of locknut (LH/RH) and the thread directions (LH/RH) of tensile rod ends. Slowly turn and fully insert both locknut to the inner most position of the tensile rod.
STEP 2 Align proper thread direction of tensile fork (SRS/RDS) and the thread direction (LH/RH) of tensile rod ends. Slowly turn and fully insert the tensile fork to the inner most position of the tensile rod. This ensures all thread are clean and the “full in� adjustment is smooth and possible.
STEP 3 Carefully unscrew the Pins of one tensile fork end. Insert tensile fork pin into connecting tensile plates (coupling plate/tie back plate). Position the connecting plate to the center of the tensile fork clevis. Carefully tighten the pin disk & screws to the pin on either side of the tensile fork.

Unscrew both lock nuts and adjust the Rod to be at middle position of the tensile assembly. Make sure the distance of engaged thread is the same on both sides of the Fork.
STEP 5 Hold the loose fork end and turn the tensile rod only to achieve correct length of the assembly. Do not attempt to adjust assembly length by turning the fork as this will create unequal thread engagement between the two forks. Once correct assembly length is achieved slide to the second connecting plate and insert pin as in step 3.

STEP 7 Tighten the lock nuts onto the tensile fork. Check thread engagement as shown on page 11. Clean the tensile assembly from any dirt or contamination from tools used. If subsequent construction work is still taking place, cover and protect the entire tie-rod assembly from contamination. Follow maintenance and installation checking in page 18. Use loctite 263 to secure the pin screw as shown on page 11.

Adjust the rod to the required working tensile load by turn the rod slowly as shown on page 11 (torque installation). Turn the rod simultaneously from both sides of the rod. This will allow even distribution of the torque onto the rod.
