ARTIST BIO

DESIGN INSPIRATION

Glen has more than 20 years’ experience as a professional artist.

Royal Worcester’s gilded fruit porcelain was the inspiration for ‘Gilded Gerty’.

The early part of his career consisted of creating original artworks for interior designers, predominantly for the hotel industry but not exclusively, and had instrumental roles on some truly fantastic projects throughout this time.

Glen wanted to honour all the artists that created these beautiful works of art, while at the same time create a giraffe that brings a bit of joy and fun to the streets of Worcester.

The Giraffe Who Found His Happy Place By Marnie Maurri ARTIST BIO

DESIGN INSPIRATION

A graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art, Marnie trained in Theatre Design obtaining her M.A. in 1995. From there, after a brief spell in animation, she spent more than 10 years running children’s art workshops before relocating to Worcestershire.

The artist took her inspiration from the simple wonder of nature and its ability to make everyone feel instantly happy.

She recently illustrated a series of three children’s books based on her character Doodle Girl™.

Glorious sunshine, blue skies, fluffy clouds, snowcapped mountains, star-filled skies, and, of course, rainbows... Everything to make you smile!
