Better fisherman's luck with a valid licence
Hook and line fishing, ice fishing and fishing with a simple baltic herring rig are free in Finland. Angling for under 18s and over 65s is also free (except on the Åland islands). All other recreational fishing is subject to a fee or permit. Fisheries management fees in Finland are 45 euros for 1 year, 15 euros for 7 days and 6 euros for 1 day.
Fisheries management fees can be paid in three ways
1. Pay for your fishing permit at www.eraluvat. fi. Print the receipt or save a copy on your mobile phone. 2. Call the service number +358 20 69 2424 (Mon–Fri 9–16).
3. Pay for your fishing permit at R-kioski or at one of Parks & Wildlife Finland’s Nature Centres. Make sure • you have the licence receipt with you when you fish. • have id with you if you are exempted from paying (under 18s or over 65s).
