LENTEN SERIES WITH DR. LUKE TIMOTHY JOHNSON MIRACLES, THEN AND NOW: GOD’S PRESENCE AND POWER IN CREATION
WEDNESDAYS THROUGH APRIL 10 DINNER 5:30 P.M. PROGRAM 6 P.M. Miracles are not confined to the stories of scripture; these signs of God's presence and power in creation are experienced throughout our daily existence. Yet cultural challenges and modernity's skepticism have marginalized belief in them as unreasonable and irrational. Johnson reclaims Christian belief in miracles as integral to recovering a proper and strong sense of creation, recognizing the validity of personal experience and narrative and asserting the truth-telling quality of myth. CHILDREN'S PROGRAMMING ALSO AVAILABLE: Children ages 3- 5th grade will meet in Room 316 to hear some never-before-told stories about Jesus' life leading up to his Crucif ixion. Infants and toddlers will enjoy childcare.

EDUCATION These Sunday classes meet at 10:10 a.m. unless otherwise noted.
OLD FASHIONED SUNDAY SCHOOL Child Hall Canon George Maxwell will continue the conversation about the early church this Sunday by looking at the origin and development of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed. He’ll address questions like where did the creed come from and why do we still have it? Why, for example, do we even care about orthodoxy (right belief )? Many religions put more emphasis on orthopraxy (right practice). As always, all are welcome. You will find a light heart, warm welcome, and good coffee!
LIVING FAITH / ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASS Adult Confirmation class is held in Room 120 during the 10:10 a.m. Sunday School hour. These classes are open to all, regardless of plans to be confirmed. In the fall, our Living Faith class studied “Falling in Love with the Bible Again.” This is a continuation of that conversation, but moving to “Falling in Love with the Church Again.” Those wishing to participate in this class in order to be confirmed, re-affirmed, or received should contact Canon Lauren Holder, lholder@ cathedralATL.org, and mark your calendars for our April 28 confirmation service.
OUR TRUE SELVES Room 240 The Rev. Dr. Thee Smith leads this series of co-listening classes that aim to enhance our ability to be fully ourselves—our true, worthy, and estimable selves. Topics can include everyday experiences and range through tough political issues as well as lifestyle choices and faith matters. For more information contact the Rev. Dr. Smith, tsmith@cathedralATL.org or 404-365-1093.
SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY Room 122 Jim Bingham and Gordon Mathis lead an ongoing small group Bible Study focusing on the book of Exodus. For more information, please contact Jim Bingham at 404-373-3273.

A retired Episcopal priest and city planner, Tracey was diagnosed with the early stages of Frontotemporal Degeneration in 2016. Emily, who spent more than 20 years in commercial real estate and project management, now considers herself Chief Logistics Officer, responsible for managing a life and home turned upside down by this disease.

SPIRITUALITY THE GIFT OF SABBATH WOMEN'S LENTEN RETREAT: MARCH 29–31
SERVE WITH THE HABITAT TEAM Our next Habitat home will be built on Saturdays from April 6 through June 8 (skipping Easter and Memorial Day weekends). We welcome past builders and new builders. If you have never built, come be part of this exciting ministry. No skills required, just your enthusiasm. We will give you the tools and training that you need to make a contribution. You can sign up to build or join our lunch team in the Atrium on Sundays, online at stphilip.atlantahabitat.volunteerhub.com or contact John Champion at 404-307-0817, email@example.com to get additional information.
“Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8 Many of us long to slow down, rest, and set time apart for God, and yet we find it increasingly hard to observe the commandment, or to receive God’s gift, of sabbath. Join other women from the Cathedral this weekend, as we reflect on sabbath, learn from its wisdom, and, most important, simply keep sabbath together. In the beautiful setting of St. Mary’s Retreat Center in Sewanee, Tennessee, and in the sabbath spirit, there will be plenty of time to rest, play, enjoy the outdoors, and be in fellowship with God and one another. The retreat will be led by the Rev. Cathy Zappa, canon for education and worship, and Jeannie Mahood, program coordinator for spirituality. Costs for the weekend, which cover lodging and meals, are $282 (private) and $225 (shared/double). Register online at cathedralATL.org/lentenretreat, or contact Jeannie Mahood, jmahood@cathedralATL.org or 404-365-1031, for further information. Space is limited so register soon!

Cathedral BOOK STORE ANSWERING THE CALL TO PRAY: ANCIENT CHRISTIAN WISDOM FOR FINDING THE LOVE OF GOD IN OUR HEARTS AND IN OUR LIVES SATURDAY, MARCH 23 — 9 A.M. – 3 P.M. Ever since the disciples said to Jesus, “teach us to pray,” Christians have sought to deepen their faith through spiritual disciplines such as prayer, meditation, and contemplation. The Bible tells us to “be still and know God” — but for many of us, living busy and active lives, prayer often seems like something awkward or just plain unattainable. Or, we might remember to pray earnestly for our needs — but isn’t there more to Christian spirituality? Answering the Call to Pray is a daylong workshop focusing on the most important of all quests — seeking the presence and love of God in our lives to equip us to live more faithfully and joyfully as Christians in today’s world. Carl McColman is a Christian writer, speaker, and teacher. He is the author of books like Answering the Contemplative Call, An Invitation to Celtic Wisdom, and The Big Book of Christian Mysticism. He regularly teaches and leads retreats at churches, conference centers, monasteries, and seminaries. This program is co-sponsored by the Cathedral Book Store, Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, and the Cathedral of Christ the King.
