Welcome To Our Parish Family! Parish Membership Through baptism we become God’s sons and daughters, and brother and sisters of each other in Christ. Every family in the parish should be properly registered and each family should receive a set of envelopes. New parishioners should register at the Parish Office. Single adults over 21 years of age should register separately from parents. This registration is our only means of certifying anyone as a member of our parish family.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT First Reading: 1 Samuel 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13a In seeking a King for the Israelites, Samuel traveled to Jesse of Bethlehem, who had seven sons. Commanded by God to ignore the elder sons, Samuel anointed the youngest, David. Second Reading: Ephesians 5:8-14 Paul exhorts the Ephesians to live as “children of light” in goodness and truth and to avoid evil deeds “done in darkness.” Gospel: John 9:1-41 Jesus performs the miracle of giving sight to the man born blind. Because Jesus performed this miracle on the Sabbath, the Pharisees called him a “sinner,” but the blind man said, “He is a prophet.” Jesus later reveals to the blind man that He is the Son of Man. ©1998 Bon Venture Services, Inc.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER The blind man was willing to let Jesus minister to him and willingly did all Jesus asked of him. The Pharisees were more resistant to His message, spending their time and energy to disprove the miracle. Which am I more like, the man born blind or the Pharisees?

~ LITURGY NEWS ~ We welcome into our Parish Family in the Saving Waters of Baptism Ryan Mangan Smith son of Ryan and Keriann Smith. We congratulate his family and give thanks that our extended parish family is growing. As a parish family we pray that he will grow into the faith into which he has been baptized.

The next Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated on April 6 during our 10:30 am Mass. This is a wonderful way for our youngest parishioners to learn the lessons and teachings of Jesus in an informal setting. All children ages 4 to 11 are invited to join us and those younger than 4 may attend with a parent to assist them. Children will be led out to the Parish Hall at the beginning of Mass where we will explore the Gospel together, and then return to the Sanctuary following the offertory to celebrate the remainder of Mass with their families. This is a beautiful ministry opportunity as well, so please contact the office for further information if you are curious about teaching a lesson or two this year. We thank you for sharing your children with us!

Not as man sees does God see, because man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD looks into the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 In today’s Gospel, it was truly a great gift when Jesus healed the man's blindness, but it was an even greater gift when Jesus revealed Himself as the Son of Man, the Messiah. The man received that second gift as willingly as he accepted the first one - He became a believer and worshiped Jesus! In Baptism, Jesus reveals Himself to us, and we're called to be like the man in today's Gospel, accepting the gift from Jesus so that we may truly see Jesus as our Lord and worship Him. Jesus heals our spiritual “blindness” - and sent His Holy Spirit to help us always see what is right and true - that Jesus is God! Sunday, March 30 at 11:30am Lenten “Almsgiving”

During Lent we are called to fast, pray, and give “alms”. Do you know what “alms” means? It is a word that means to share with others in need. Thank you for filling your Rice Bowls during Lent. You may drop off your filled “bowls” before your last April class. All funds are sent to Catholic Relief Services to help our neighbors around the world. Thanks for your generosity!

FAMILY STATIONS OF THE CROSS Thank you for making this Lenten season prayerful and meaningful by learning about God’s goodness to us. A special way to pray during the Lent is to “walk” with Jesus on His “Way of the Cross”. All are welcome to join us each week as we pray together, led by the following classes: April 2 April 9

Grades 8 and 9 Grade 10

Please plan to stay for a Soup Supper afterward in the Parish Hall. Follow the email link sent to all families to RSVP or sign up to help. This is special way to gather with your Parish Family for prayer and fellowship as we prepare for Easter Joy! ST. PETER CLAVER’S SUPER STEWARDS! We thank God for the Gifts of Love shared by the children of our parish. May they be blessed for their kind actions at home, school and in their community!
