Saint Peter Claver
Welcome To Our Parish Family! Parish Membership Through baptism we become God’s sons and daughters, and brother and sisters of each other in Christ. Every family in the parish should be properly registered and each family should receive a set of envelopes. New parishioners should register at the Parish Office. Single adults over 21 years of age should register separately from parents. This registration is our only means of certifying anyone as a member of our parish family.

HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH First Reading: Sirach 3:2-7, 12-14 This passage from Sirach details the duties children owe to father and mother. Their life-long devotion will not be forgotten and “will take lasting root.” Second Reading: Colossians 3:12-21 Paul urges Christians particularly in the setting of the family, to “clothe” themselves with kindness, patience, humility, and mercy; to forgive; and, above all, to love! Gospel: Matthew 2:13-15, 19-23 An angel of the Lord, appearing in a dream to Joseph, urges him to flee with Jesus and Mary to Egypt to escape the murderous schemes of Herod. Later, in another dream, an angel tells Joseph to go with Jesus and Mary to a town called Nazareth in the region of Galilee, thus fulfilling the Scriptures: “He shall be called a Nazarean.” ©1998 Bon Venture Services, Inc.

READINGS FOR THE WEEKEND OF JANUARY 5
First Reading: Isaiah 60: 1-6 Second Reading: Ephesians: 3:2-3a, 5-6 Gospel: Matthew 2:1-12
WITH GRATITUDE FOR THE MOST RECENT GIFTS TO OUR COMMUNITY On the weekend of January 12th as the Christmas season comes to a close we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord. At all Masses on the weekend of the 12th, we will also celebrate the gift of all newly baptized babies in our community. They are truly gifts from God to us and we are grateful for their presence with us. A tree will be located in the back of the church with ornaments representing each child baptized in our community over the past year. Parishioners are invited to take one of these ornaments home and pray for this child and their family throughout the New Year. A special blessing will also be given for these children at each Mass. Parents of babies baptized within the last year are asked to forward a photo by January 6th, either via email to email@example.com or dropped off to the Parish Office.
THE HOLY FAMILY OF JESUS MARY AND JOSEPH STEWARDSHIP CORNER For unto us is born this day a Savior! In response to so great a love, only the gift of my whole self will do. You have given us Yourself, dear Lord, in love and thanksgiving, I commit myself afresh to You.
