We have each taken on new responsibilities and have learned or are trying to learn new skill sets that will make our studio the studio of choice for this area. Every spring is the only spring, a perpetual astonishment. ~Ellis Peters

Q U I CK T I P S F O R B ET T ER P H OTO S Q: What should I wear for a portrait session?

other. It does not have to be the same colors.

A: Wear something that compliments you but doesn't take away from you. Avoid patterns and bright colors. You want people to look at you, not what you're wearing. Stick to neutrals such as beiges, tans, browns, blues and blacks. If you are still unsure, bring some extra pieces of clothing and we'll help you choose. If it is a family portrait you have booked wear clothing complimentary to each

Q: I don't usually wear a lot of make-up. Do I need to wear more than normal and are there any colors I should avoid? A: If you don't normally wear make-up, a little is suggested. If you wear make-up, just not a lot, apply your make-up as you would normally and if anything needs to be darkened, we'll help you when you arrive. You should stay away from dark colors on the eyes

and if you are having black and white photos taken, stay away from "blue-red" lipstick as it will photograph black. If you are still unsure and would like your make-up applied professionally, we can arrange for a make-up artist at a reasonable rate at the studio. We are more than happy to answer any other queries you may have and don’t worry, there are no stupid questions. Enjoy your shoot! Studio Staff

IT’S THE BRIDES DAY……….YEAH RIGHT!!! schedule be known. Haven’t a clue about what I’m putting’ down here do ya!

It is about the groom too!

“God makes the pictures, I just shoot them” - Ed H. Urqhardt

While it is true that most women have dreamed of their wedding day since they were very young, it is also true this state of mind has excluded men from participating and enjoying their wedding day. Well guys, time to step up! This is not a women’s only club. Enjoy the day, it is emotional, heart wrenching and blissful, but, why can’t it be fun too? So often we hear statements from the groom and his boys that they are bored, don’t like to have their pictures done or have had no input into the planning of this event. If you are saying these things now, stop, take a breath and let your thoughts on the days

Through recent history the only input the men have demanded was into which DJ or band you would hire. Good start, but only a start. Your DJ has so many fun ways to include participation by the male half of this union. Ask, they’ll be happy to tell you. Likewise your photographer will be eager to include an interesting, fun spread of you and the guys. Favorite sport, hobby, car or any other information you can relay to the photographer can increase your enjoyment of the day ten fold. If you have no ideas, talk to the boys, they might. It does not take a lot of time to set up a shot if the arrangements have been made in advance. Please don’t spring a complicated location and set-up on your photographer the morning of the ceremony, you will likely be disappointed. A good photographer, and by good I mean, professional, edgy and creative, will suggest different times and settings that

can make this portion of the day your own. Flowers are the scourge o f m a n ly be ings…...hmmmmph! You only think they are because you have had no say in what they might be. This is a harder sell than the music for the reception, but a frank discussion of the floral arrangements could benefit you too! What about your tux? Unless you’re totally lacking in taste I doubt you’ll want the frilly blue seersucker we see on so many comedy shows. A good looking tux, to your taste, is something you can and should have a say. Finally, let’s discuss the meal. Stuffed Cornish Hen anyone? C’mon, you want a meal you can sink your teeth into, don’t you? In closing, get your attitude and thoughts together…….ask your brideto-be what color of pants you should wear today…...get involved!

What’s it all about? Well ... It’s all about you’re pets. In our case it’s all about you’re dog! We came across a program in the US that will translate well to any region or country. The program involves food collection for pets in need. The Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society in conjunction with Meals on Wheels provide pet owners who are in the program food to sustain the companions they cherish.
