Dental Bridges Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap – these two anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth – and a false tooth/teeth in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials. Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants.
Our Services Cosmetic Dentistry Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of a person’s teeth, gums and/or bite. Dr. Nelson is skilled in restoring and creating beautiful smiles of all types.
Dentures A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.
Our Services Fillings Fillings are the most common restoration for teeth damaged by decay or injury, and advances in technology have revolutionized the materials available to restore your smile. We do not use the silver fillings or amalgam mercury fillings that were used in the past that created dark and discolored areas that stood out from the rest of your smile. Metal fillings expanded and contracted with temperature changes, allowing bacteria to enter and cause decay, and additionally caused weakening of the tooth and possible fractures. We at Progressive Dental Group use only the latest technology to create a metal-free filling that is both healthy and aesthetically pleasing. Composite fillings are a safer, stronger and more enduring restoration that bonds directly to your tooth and allows more of the healthy natural tooth structure to remain. We do a variety of different extractions for different reasons from; extractions requested by orthodontists, when decay has rendered the tooth structure unrestorable and wisdom teeth on a case by case basis.
Our Services Dental Implants Dental implant restorations have become the premier choice for replacing missing teeth or teeth that are beyond other restoration options. The implant can simulate a single tooth or multiple teeth, and is integrated naturally to the bone replicating a natural tooth root. This allows the dental implant to preserve facial structure by preventing the deterioration of the surrounding bone and tissue that would inevitably occur without a replacement. Replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant allows the functionality to brush, floss, laugh, and eat comfortably while maintaining a healthy, naturallooking smile. If you would like to find out more about the dental implants that Progressive Dental Group uses please see the links below.
