ROSYS South Yorkshire Scouting, County Office: Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre, White Lane Chapeltown, Sheffield, South Yorkshire. S35 2YH http://www.syscouts.org.uk firstname.lastname@example.org 01142 468 551
County Commissioner’s Ramble Unfortunately due to the weather conditions Rosys, amongst a lot of other things, was delayed / cancelled. This issue will be a December /January issue. The next issue will be published at the end of January. I have been busy conducting a search for a new District Commissioner in Doncaster Danum and organising the County Conference for District Commissioners, deputies and the County Team. I know this sounds a long way off but we are starting to look at `The Scouting Vision to 2018’. Hopefully in the New Year your DCs will begin the work and vision objectives within the districts so that we can all be part of the future of Scouting. As the month went on we had the snow/sub zero temperatures etc. which played havoc with planned events and meetings but I know we can all overcome the challenges put in front of us and go forward. Sadly we had to cancel Winter Wonderland at Hesley Wood which is a very popular event and many Carol Services were also cancelled. I shall look forward to attending other events in the New Year.
I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone for all their hard work, time and commitment shown during 2010 to support Scouting in South Yorkshire and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Northern Lights Opportunities As part of the preparation for the event in July next year, we are looking for some Network members to help to front our media involvement at the event.
