Letter from the Managing Director…... Winter….frosty, cold, dark nights with little activity in the garden is one description – warm, cosy lit fires, company, friends, family, food and care is another. I trust your winter season is passing with enjoyment and fulfilment in many ways for you. Come with the Stocks Hall family through our winter season…… Creating loving & caring family environments for all living and visiting Stocks Hall to share. Enjoy the moments of loved ones living life and being cared for, in a way that they rightly deserve.

Life never remains the same, and for me this winter season has brought my own personal heart ache, following the tragic death of my loving partner Adrian, one of the Directors of Stocks Hall. However it has given me great comfort to see part of his vision continue on in The Stocks Hall Family Homes. Adrian loved people and people loved Adrian, his memory lives on. Thank you to all our dedicated stall who go beyond the extra mile to help others lives be filled with happiness. Personal thanks go to you all, for the support that you have given me throughout this traumatic time. You have given me strength to carry on.

Stocks Hall St Helen’s bid goodbye to their much loved housekeeper Diane Bacon recently.

‘Lady Di’ as she was affectionately known, was thrown as ‘Bon Voyage Buffet’ in the conservatory and presented with flowers by Manger Julie Gaskell. Each guest then told their fondest memory of Diane and of how much they would miss working with her. Lucy the Home’s Activities Co-Ordinator said “Lady Di was a massive part of Stocks Hall St Helen’s team. No matter how big or small of a job, help or advice you asked from Di she would give you 110%. So we all would like to tell Lady Di that we love her & would like to wish her good luck in everything she does in the future”. 10

Stocks Hall St Helen’s celebrated a milestone birthday this in February, as Mr David Ball reached the big 50! In order to give David a day he would never forget, David’s parents along with Activities Coordinator Lucy planned a surprise party. The room was decorated with banners, balloons and pictures of David through the years. A homemade buffet was created with all of David’s favourites foods and they purchased a giant Costco Birthday cake, famed for their delicious buttercream icing. David was certainly surprised! A bagpiper was hired for the occasion to play ‘Happy Birthday’ for David as he entered the party. The day was filled with food, joy and good times as everyone danced the afternoon away to David’s favourite Motown music. David’s mother Rita commented that she ‘Couldn't have done all this for David in her wildest dreams.’

Happy Birthday David from everyone at Stocks Hall Nursing and Care Group! 11
