Geneva isn't just the capital of diplomacy and high-end watchmaking, it's also a foodie's dream. Over a space that's barely bigger than a district of London, there are more than 50 fine dining restaurants, 10 of which are Michelin-starred. For something a little different, head to the Pâquis Baths 41 41. Whether it's the height of summer or mid-winter, order a delicious cheese fondue to share with family or friends. And don't forget about Geneva's many wine and cocktail bars, where a selection of local and international wines are waiting for you, along with crazy cocktails especially created by Mixologists. Make sure you also sample the wine from our very own wine-growing region too, a true local specialty!

Home to a large number of international organizations, Geneva is a key centre for peace and diplomacy. The famous "spirit of Geneva" is still very much alive throughout the city, but the Broken Chair 66 in the Place des Nations is without doubt the location where the city's humanist spirit is most tangible. Made entirely of wood and standing 12 metres high, this imposing sculpture was created in 1997 by Daniel Berset as a tribute to the victims of anti-personnel mines. It sits just a stone's throw from the Palais 5 , the European headdes Nations 5* quarters of the United Nations, which is definitely worth a guided tour. The Palais has thousands of secrets just waiting to be revealed, and be sure not to miss the extraordinary ceiling in the Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room. But if you're more interested in the field work than the negotiation side of things, the International Red Cross and Red A is the one for you. Crescent Museum E A moving experience is guaranteed.
