AIN’T He was just a little boy, On a week’s first day. Wandering home from Bible School, And dawdling on the way. He scuffed his shoes into the grass; He even found a caterpillar He found a fluffy milkweed pod, And blew out all the ‘filler.’ A bird’s nest in a tree overhead, So wisely place up high.. Was just another wonder That caught his eager eye.
Congratulations to Rebecca Ann Legare who was baptized in the Ashley River on July 28. Rebecca is the daughter of Bridget Legare and the sister of Jean Brown. ****************************************
BRAGGING RIGHTS Lisa Stine reports: Brittany made a 4.0 last semester at Clemson, was on the President's List and also is now a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda (because of her GPA). She spent the entire summer doing her practicum at Bishop Gadsden (Retirement Community on James Island), where she fell in love with its residents and they fell in love with her. She is truly doing what God has called her to do. (Do you want to share some great news? Send your praise reports to Jacki at email@example.com)
TALENT SHOW The Annual Talent Show last Sunday was truly a fun- filled, exciting evening, ending with delicious ice cream sundaes. As a result of this memorable evening we are happy to turn the proceeds over to St. Mark apportionments in the amount $553.13. Thank you to all who participated and helped with this event.
A neighbor watched his zigzag course, And hailed him from the lawn; Asked him where he’d been that day And what was going on. “I’ve been to Bible School.” He said and turned a piece of sod. He picked up a wiggly worm replying, “I’ve learned a lot about God.” “Mmm, very fine way,” the neighbor said, “for a boy to spend his time. If you’ll tell me where God is, I’ll give you a brand new dime.” Quick as a flash the answer came! Nor were his accents faint. “I’ll give you a dollar, Mister, If you can tell me where God ain’t!” Author Unknown The St. Marker is published each month and is distributed primarily by email and our website (www.stmarkchurch.info). We mail copies to our shutins and provide copies in the Narthex to those who do not have Internet access. Please give us your email address if you have one and are reading a hard copy of this. You may do this by sending your email address to Jacki at firstname.lastname@example.org . 4
