*********************************************************** WATER MISSIONS INTERNATIONAL In August, our Coins for Christ offering will be Water Missions International. Water Missions International is a non-profit organization that provides safe drinking water around the world and spreads the word of God as part of their mission. Starting the first Sunday in August through the end of August, there will be water cups in each pew to collect your coins, dollars, and checks to help this worthwhile mission. Please join them in spreading the Living Water and safe water throughout the world with your support. Meet Rich Sweazy! Rich is our new Director of children and youth ministries. He will start on August 14, and you will enjoy meeting him in person the following Sunday. He comes to us from Oklahoma by way of Monck’s Corner. In Oklahoma, he was Director of Youth and Children’s Ministries at St. Paul’s UMC in Lawton. We thought we would share some of his activities and interests to help you get to know him and think of ways to partner with him in ministry. He has: Taught Sunday school Selected curriculum for all ages Organized youth group planning meetings Was the co-leader for his district of the UMC for youth activities with other churches Coordinated volunteers for vatious areas Worked with a children’s chapel service Involved in all aspects of VBS Community outreach Volunteered in men’s prison ministry Emmaus walk (Great Plains) Attended Salkahatchie just a few weeks ago Adults, youth and children of his home church miss him and his family greatly, and assure us that we will be blessed. Some of you have met his wife, Ella, and his father in law, Dale. We look forward to worshipping with Rich and his family (they have 3 children) and growing in faith together.
