2016 CONTRIBUTIONS | Per IRS regulations, St. Louis

Church automatically sends out 2016 tax statements to anyone who has given a single donation of $250 or more. Donors who don’t quite meet this threshold may contact the Church Office at 512-454-0384 ext. 201 to request your statements. We are happy to mail your first statement at no charge, but ask that you pick up replacement statements from the Church Office during regular business hours. We are grateful for all donations, large or small! Thank you to all our wonderful parishioners who so faithfully support our ministries! WE ARE BLESSED TO HAVE AN ADORATION CHAPEL

where the Blessed Sacrament is in Exposition 24 hours a day. Dedicating oneself to a holy hour in our adoration chapel provides the time and space to nurture our relationship with Jesus that brings us peace. At present, there are over 40 hours that do not have regularly scheduled adorers. More than half of these hours are between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. with 18 of these hours being overnight. Would you consider taking one? Would you be willing to dedicate yourself to an hour in the chapel as your spiritual resolution for the new year? If you already have an hour, would you consider a second? Ultimately, this is not about filling slots in a day – this is about our commitment to be with Jesus fully present in the Eucharist. Please consider signing up for a holy hour by filling out a form found in the Adoration chapel, or online at www.st-louis.org/adoration. The form is available in English and Spanish. You can contact Chris Ojeda by sending email to or by calling 512.413.0674 with any questions.

If you are interested, please come to the informational session on Thursday evening January 19th at 7 pm in Room 2 of Wozniak Hall. For more information, please contact Evan Westwood at (512) 294-3939 or evan. westwood@gmail.com. JOIN FELLOW CATHOLIC WOMEN at the quarterly

meeting of the Austin North, Central & South Deaneries Council of Catholic Women on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Holy Cross Church, 1610 East 11th Street, Austin. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m., followed by a business meeting with officer elections and voting on standard operating procedures, and complementary brunch. Diocesan CCW President Dianne Friend is an invited guest. The program, Women at the Well, is a series of reflective vignettes performed by the ladies of Holy Cross Church. Contact Karen Dunlap, president, at 512-8360530 or kdunlap78@hotmail.com with questions. SOUPER SUPPER TIME | All ladies of the parish are welcome

to the Women’s Club’s traditional Souper Supper. There will be a variety of homemade soups, with all the trimmings for a winter dinner. If you haven’t come to a Souper Supper in the past, now’s the time to put it on your calendar. Returning ladies, you know what’s in store. Join us on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 7PM in Wozniak Hall. The Club Board is pleased to announce that our seminarian, Chris Yeager, has accepted an invitation to join us that evening and tell us about his life in the seminary as well as at St. Louis.

2017 AT THE ST. LOUIS FARM | As 2017 begins, make it

a resolution to help out at St. Louis Farm! The winter months are a great opportunity to volunteer -- the weather is cooler, the Farm is full of tasks large and small, and volunteering is a great way to give back after Christmas feasting. We'll be having monthly Saturday Work Days on January 28 and February 25 from 8am-12pm. We'll have refreshments, fellowship, seasoned volunteers to guide you, and you can help us provide fresh vegetables for the Food Pantry! Mark your calendars, pull on a sweatshirt, and come on out -- we're located on the church property near the corner of St. Joseph and Hardy Street. For more info, follow us on Facebook or send us an email at stlouisfarmatx@gmail.com.

THE ST. LOUIS PARISH LIBRARY | While most New Year's

resolutions are sheer drudgery and require a lot of hard work to accomplish, usually ending in failure, your parish library can make things easier. How about a resolution to go somewhere where you can grow in your faith, find more peace in your life, enjoy beautifully composed music or appreciate a decent, morally sound movie? "Where might I find such a place?" you may say. Why, your parish library; that's where! Come check us out! You can't fail with this New Year's resolution! The parish library staff wish our parishioners a blessed New Year in which you remain happy, healthy and filled with the Spirit.

¿Deseas recibir el Sacramento del Matrimonio bendiciendo el amor de tu familia? made 6 home visits during the week ending on 22 November. We helped 2 families with utility bills, 3 with rent, 1 with a furniture voucher and 1 copay for a neighboring conference. One case was that of an Iraqi refugee family of six that had had to flee to this country after working for the US in Iraq. He has a job which is adequate to pay their rent and utilities, and they do get a small amount of food stamps, but they were in need of more food and some furniture. We told them about the food pantries in the area and invited them to attend our Thanksgiving Festival of Giving. Because of your support, we were able to give them a $300 furniture voucher to the SVdP Family Store. Our volunteers concluded their visit by praying for them.
