Holy Day of Obligation Tuesday, November 1st Mass: 6:15am, 8:30am & 6:30pm

LIFE TOGETHER Dear Friends, Big weekend for our parish this weekend. Hope you are a part of what is happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday on campus. The Community Life Commission and the Parish School are focusing on this yearly weekend to gradually expand the offerings. We’ll see how this year goes. I am grateful to the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Daughters for their support and help for the parish Family Fest Picnic. This coming Tuesday, is All Saints, which is a holy day of obligation. Traditionally this day commemorates all the holy men and women who have been declared Saints of the Church. We have so many examples of outstanding discipleship of whom we seek their prayers. November 2nd is the celebration of All Souls Day, where we remember our loved ones who have died. These two days are certainly days of reflection on the meaning of life and death, particularly in what lies in the past and what lies ahead. I am happy to have Fr. RB Williams with us beginning the weekend of November 5th-9th who will be offering the annual Parish Mission. MondayWednesday of that week, Fr. RB will bring great skill in preaching to help us discern God’s will in our lives. As a Dominican preacher, Fr. RB has been all over the country offering missions and retreats to parishes and to priests. I hope you will come each evening at 7:00pm to be inspired. Next Sunday, November 6th is the Diocesan 50th Anniversary Mass, 3:00pm at the River Center. It will not be televised, so I hope you will join the many who will be there to celebrate our corporate identity as a Diocese and to give thanks for the past 50 years. The Mass is open to all. Hope to see you there. Please remember on November 6th there is NO evening Mass celebrated anywhere in the diocese. Also, Daylight Saving Times ENDS November 6th! Have a good week ahead! Love,

The $15 registration fee for the boys (grownups attend for free) will help to cover the cost of the day’s activities. Volunteers are also needed to help with the event. A CALL TO THE SERVANTS OF GOD: Renewed In The Spirit Five Minutes to Meaningful Prayer You will soon receive important information concerning the upcoming Stewardship of Prayer phase of our Total Stewardship program. There are many ways to be involved. Committing five minutes a day is but one way to meaningfully refresh your prayer life. Bookstores carry volumes that help cooks plan five-minute meals, software developers often speak of a five-minute software upload, and runners still measure competitiveness by their ability to break a five-minute mile. If you could prepare a meal in only five minutes, imagine how meaningful five minutes of focused daily prayer could be. Now is the time to begin thinking about your prayer commitment. Thank You for Your Continued Support Please accept our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all whom have made their generous commitment to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal in the past from St. Jean Vianney - BR Parish, and continue to support this important appeal again this year. As we all know, these times challenge us on many levels. Disquieting news comes at us form so many fronts and attempts to take away our sense of security and peace. Yet, generous donors from throughout our Diocese continue to support the mission and works of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. It continued success and impact across our Diocese stands out as a reason to rejoice.
