Hello Readers, This is the first issue of Deaf Culture and History magazine that we are exciting to share the world of Deaf through their eyes. Let me tell you how this idea came to fruition, in the past few months, I had been desperately searching for a better published articles and documents on Deaf culture and history that are more organized and easily read for the public both Deaf and non-Deaf so after many different sources, books, articles and magazines which I discovered that there is no such special magazine/journal that are more Deaf-centric. After several ideas and thinkings, I decided that this such thing must be created and so this is where I am now. This magazine/journal purposes are to help with our journey to understand Deaf culture and our history researched by the Deaf people for the Deaf people. Also not only that this publications are for the Deaf population around the world, this can be used as awareness and research documents, articles, experiences and stories that can benefit the general readers which can be used in ASL courses at colleges and universities, interpreting training programs and scholars who studies the Deaf culture, Deaf people and our sign languages. I must be briefly as possible because I felt the need to use every page as possible for our very first issue so that we can have everything for you to enjoy and learn. Maybe some information are old, we can review or feel proud and endowed that we truly do have a place in the universe where we can feel belonged. Editor-in-Chief,

StĂobhan Redmond
